I need help with everquest

Ok, I got eq:Platnium beacuse i got the Soe all access plan and i wanted to try eq out.
Well...
I'm having troubles... I need some help.

Ok.
I want to know how to look my camera around to where if i'm in a battle i want to see the side of it. i don't want to look at my characters back and not see the enemy and i don't want to fight in 1st person... Someone told me that f9 changed cameras , It works but it's hard to run and fight in some of those settings. is there a way i can set like hold left click to look around and righ tclick to move (as in everquest 2)?

If so. or if not so. What do you guys do for this problem if you like to see the battle?

Having never played EQ2, I'm not sure of the camera angles available.

What I do, as a melee;

Turn /showspell off
and then in first person view, just scroll back on the mouse. Then you can rotate the mouse up and down for different angles. Your still in first person view, so if you turn the camera, you turn your character (so, you don't want to do that), but you can look up and down, without affecting the character...

For casters;

I leave spell affects on, but just cycle through the F9 views, until I get one I like where I can rotate the camera around, without turning my character. With the caster it's easier, since your normally not the pulller and you just sit one location. /assist the tank and nuke.

well ok.. i've started to do that with my melee. the scroll back and look upwards.. now...

Like that one camera view where when you hold right click and move the mouse it zooms in and rotates at the same time... that ones good. but it can gett annoying when moving to the right and accidently going way in... i dont know.... oh well.
