Selling ships is a nice filler but playing them in a persistent universe would be even nicer. When do you think this will happend ?

Don't think that is very credible when they say the PU beta is at the end of 2014.

    Official project status:

That rules out 2014 as an option.

Breaking news for ships to buy and put more money into their pockets, but no Breaking news on release dates!

I predict - more ships will be released for sale soon.   LOL

That is NOT what they say at the time of writing of this post. See Link. Other dates have been mentioned in the past - these dates have changed. The community has been notified of these changes.

    Current dates:

    "Persistent Universe Module / Beta

Approximate date: End of 2015(a minimum of 4 months after the first Squadron 42 chapter is released.)"

The backers should be able to fly around in a small version of a persistent universe toward the end of next year.

    That is a given.

There are 45 more ships (out of 60) on the list and about to come out of the pipeline in the next months.

Missing the option "When Microsoft buys out the company" :-)

I think the PU will see some delays and be put back to the second half of 2017

Its the source you posted. if it's a poor source thats on you.

It makes no specific reference to 2015 as beta start. The only mentioning of "beta" is in the section header "Persistent Universe Module / Beta" and in the section i quoted about expected beta in late 2014.

The source is Chris Roberts.  Thats as good a source on Star Citizen as it gets.

There will be only small breadcrumbs (like the dogfighting module) until the magic $100 million is reached. I guarantee you that nothing substantial will hit the hard drives of backers until then.

    ----

This is not about financing a game any more, this is about Cris Roberts ego and reaching $100 million in crowd funded money.

Impressive how the results and expectations change when you make a poll outside of the CIG Forum fanboy bias, one that does not even represent for real the backers actually, since their forums have the most poor level of participation of any other thing that CIG offers to their customers, but probably includes those die-hard fans that spend more money, and that's is the logic reason that leads CIG to listen them.

Well ... only a poll from amongst those who have funded the game matters ;-)

This game is created for US, the BACKERS ;-)

For those who want to compare ... here is a similar poll from the SC forums (scroll down to:  "When are you expecting full release of Star Citizen?"):

Erillion your respnse time to a new thread or a new post seems to be 2-3 minutes and you also post tons of new threads stright from CIG PR machine on which nobody seems to answer.

Also you are fiercily defend CIG against any post that is not inline with CIG propaganda macine.

Can you please state clearly if you are afiliated or not  in any way with CIG or with a PR agency hired by CIG and if you have any material interest in defending them

I am in no way or form affiliated with CIG or a PR agency hired by CIG. I am working in quality management in a field different than the game industry.

I am a backer, so i have an interest - although not material - in defending Star Citizen. I follow the definition of crowdfunding

    Prediction: Duke Nukem Forever'd.

As the game progresses, more features will be added as funding increases, leading to ever longer development times. Old tech will be scrapped, and new tech added in an attempt to keep the game 'current'. A few screenshots will be released here and there, mock-ups will be shown at trade shows, etc. Meanwhile other promising games will be released and, tired of waiting for George Broussard's... err, I mean Chris Robert's promised 'miracle game', fans will migrate toward them, finding them enjoyable.

Star Citizen eventually releases after massive delays and feature creep, with graphics and game play completely outdated compared to its peers. Die hards still play, some backers give it a look (hey, they paid for it, why not?), but between mediocre reviews and loss of interest, the game tanks badly. Much as he did after the disastrous Wing Commander movie, Roberts once again fades into obscurity, ostensibly blaming everything and everyone but himself for his failure (he's already thrown hissy fits about gaming media).

That's my prediction, and the writing is most certainly on the wall. Hope I'm wrong.

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

So what is the point of posting wall of texts for every new magazine number and new million that CIG makes ?

The only purpose i can see is to flood the first page so other threads that are actualy discused more or less to go from firt page.

If you are a game fan  and not more then a fan you would be concerned by where this project go.

The racing and arena are trivial projects. For example if you would use UNITY engine you would be able to buy for 50-60 bucks code that does pretty much this. How can a project with 60MIL under belly to offerr so little after 2 years ?

I am "defending" Star Citizen, not CIG. There was a good reason for my wording.

I have been on this forum for 10 years, posting some 1800 posts about things other than Star Citizen. For most of the time Star Citizen was not even KNOWN. Interesting how you  label other users as "true trolls".

*** So what is the point of posting wall of texts for every new magazine number and new million that CIG makes ? ***

Because I like to discuss anything new about this game on the forum of my choice. That is the purpose of the Star Citizen section of MMORPG.com - discussing the game and whats new.

The keyword is "discussing" . However you post walls of "propaganda" on which nobody answers. What you post is more appopiate for a blog.
