PvE or PvP oriented

Is ESO worth trying for a player who is mostly PvE oriented ?

ESO has a large PvE community, and apparently they have a lot to do. I'm a pvp guy so I can only speak on what I hear from them.

They say the quest stories and lore are great. I'm not much of a quester, but the TES lore is a given.

There are and insane amount of public dungeons

    There are vet dungeons

Dolems/Dark Anchors - kinda like Rifts

    World bosses - I call them mini-bosses

    12 man timed trials/raids

Sky shards hunting for skill points

    Lore book hunring

    Crafting/gathering

Great economy - People are making insane amounts of gold. I spend at least 40k/week on potions

    February comes the justice system

might be a couple things I'm missing too.

    some others you missed..

    Dragonstar Arena (4 man trials)

Dye System (work on achievements to unlock dye colors)

Fishing (it's a bit boring and atm only has achievements tied to it but 1.6 will tie fishing in with crafting and make it more useful)

Pledges (daily quests for regular and vet dungeons)

    Writs (daily crafting quests)

Monster helm/shoulder farming (vet dungeon bosses now drop rare helms that have a visual similar to the monster that drops them and there is an associated shoulder item you can get to go with it for a 2 piece set bonus)

Dungeon Scaling is now live so you can run any 4 man dungeon and it will scale up to your level (doesn't scale below it's original level though). Scaling also works on quest instances as well (but not public dungeons or delvs).

For me ESO is a superb PvE game with PvP on top of that...

You can PvE withouth ever touching PvP, unless you want to max all skillpoints, which requires you to do some PvE questing in the PvP area...  But with only the skillpoints available in PvE, you can create any build you want,

however with only PvP, you miss to many skillpoints to be competitive

the lists above show how much PvE fun there is..... So PvE is definately a go in this game

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Yes its great for PVE- totally agree with Lord.Bachus'  assessment in the above post. The world is really immersive and the gameplay is great. It is like playing a good single-player rpg with friends, and also has some of the best crafting I have seen in any game.
