Title should be pretty self-explanatory.
For most here, MMORPG's will no doubt dominate their lists, though you don't have to limit it to that. Simply pick your five, regardless of their genre, and give an explanation as to why you want them.
(Mine)
1. Gigantic (MOBA/ARTS)
This title packs a gorgeous Okami-esque art style along with an exciting third person combat system that could be described as "Smite, but better." Its combination of control points with player-selected team bosses is a refreshing change of pace for the genre, and its focus on adding mechanics to your abilities instead of buying items could shake things up big time.
2. Everquest Next (MMORPG)
From its charming Disney-esque aesthetic to its stage blocks and dynamic events, EQN is a game that seems to be almost tailor-made for my preferences. Almost. I just hope that the combat and content can hold up.
3. Overwatch (Team FPS)
Combines the MOBA philosophy of pre-built character classes with the mobility and fast pace of a FPS. Its character designs are quirky and its trailer provided a hefty dose of Pixar-esque goodness. This one would be higher if Gigantic didn't look to be this and so much more.
4. Moonlight Blade (MMORPG)
I love Wuxia games. I hate Wuxia budgets. So far, every martial arts MMO has been a poorly done game by a company without the resources to back it. A glance at Moonlight Blade's gameplay footage or screenshots will reveal impressive graphics and a satisfying art style. More importantly, the game boasts a combat system that brings in all the fluidity of a console hack and slash title - like TERA, but without the movement locking on abilities. Couple this with naval content and various other in-development features, and you've got a title with a lot of potential. And that's what this one is - potential. If I see that potential become a reality and it gets a North American release announcement, I'd bump this one up in the ranks.
5. Lost Ark (Dungeon crawler + possible MMO)
This one is a strange one. I tend to dislike Asian-made games (which also contributes to the weirdness of something like Moonlight Blade being on my list) and I also tend to hate dungeon crawlers for their repetitive grind-based gameplay and gender-locking. Lost Ark, however, appears to be an impressive title with a lot of cinematic value and an exciting combat system. There has also been talk of open world areas akin to those of a standard MMO, which would be fascinating to experience in this genre. If its substance is as good as its flair, Lost Ark will be incredible.

Nothing to look forward for me but I will check this post again as I would like to see what others are waiting for.
edit: on main page where it says Top Voted Games - Development, I see nothing to catch my eye at all and that list has been the same for long long time.
Nothing in the near future that I can think of, maybe finally some GTA V multiplayer on the PC, skipped out on it on the PS3 because of server issues.
In the not-so-near future:
1. Camelot Unchained
2. Star Citizen Persistent Universe
3. Tree of Savior
4. Phantasy Star Online 2 (if they ever bring it to the west)
5. I guess Everquest Next or a really polished release version of Shroud of the Avatar
1. Fallout 4 (which may or maynot be coming.)
2. EQN
3. Torment: TON
4. Zelda U
5 Elderscrolls 7.
TSW - AoC - Aion - WOW - EVE - Fallen Earth - Co - Rift - || XNA C# Java Development
Lineage Eternal
Lost Ark
Star Citizen ... may be .. if it is solo-friendly, and you can game in instances.
Legacy of the Void
None atm with so many new mmo not living up to what I to end up playing, so I end up staying where I am happy at.
This is kind of where I am at too.
When I read the thread title I went WTF there are five or more MMO's coming out in the next 12 months? After reading the OP I get the message that it is a broader net than that. So I read through the posts and it confirmed my feeling that there is not one upcoming game that I am interested in. So while I like EQ2 less and less that is probably what I will be playing all next year.
I generally look back for my games, not forward.
Right now I have:
-Fallen Earth
-Project Gorgon
-SWToR
-LOTRO
-TSW
-Earth and Beyond
Plenty there to keep me going for the near future. I prefer to wait and see what happens with new games. I never get hyped for anything because although I enjoy MMO's, I have never found anything to be earth shatteringly good. Just enjoyable and thats all I ask.
So only mildly interested in whats coming. Old enough now to know that the new stuff isn't going to be much different from the old stuff.
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
Only Three of Savior
and maybe Black Desert, but definitly Three of Savior.
who doesnt want 80 possible classes with 10 different advacements?
EQ next i guess.. Theres really nothing in the works that I'm hyped about.
Possibly http://playdwell.com/ but seeing as It's small and indie, it'll probably turn out a trainwreck.
Good list OP. I am looking forward to trying:
1) Black Desert
2) Gigantic
3) EQN
4) Kingdoms under fire
5) Deep down (not sure about its online features, but it seems to have multiplayer)
1. The Repopulation
2. Black Desert
3. Bless
4. Lost Ark
5. Lineage Eternal
- Albert Einstein
1) Elite: Dangerous
2) The Repopulation
3) Deep Down
4) H1Z1 or Miscreated (whichever turns out better)
5) Star Citizen
Mostly agree, Elite Dangerous is probably the only upcoming game that i know for sure that i'd actually buy, while i am not sure that most of the companies out there are just creating games as a quick cash grab intentionally, that does seem to be the end result regardless, i think Elite Dangerous is probably one of the few games that really is one that is made for the players
Let's say six...
1) No Man's Sky
2) Camelot Unchained
3) Tree of Savior
4) Lineage Eternal
5) Warhammer 40K Eternal Crusade
6) Lost Ark
I'm especially waiting for No Man's Sky. It will be amazing...
I'm still reeling a bit after Archeage sucking, but here they are...
The repopulation
Everquest Next
Skyforge (though I'm not 100% on this one)
The Division (once again not 100% on this after recent Ubisoft debacles)
Star Wars Battlefront
I can't get excited for Black Desert, Korean MMOs have a bad habit of looking really good, but playing really bad or being grindfests. Another thing, it's not even out in Korea, so anyone who thinks we will get it before 2016 is a bit naive. Just look at the time line of any other big Korean MMO. Tera, Arcehage, Aion, all of these games took about a year to make it to the US after their initial release in Korea. Speaking of which, there isn't even a release date other than it saying 2015. There is an open beta (for Korea only I believe) on the 17th, but the game had its first beta back in 2013, so that's not really an indicator of how close they are to release. For all we know this could not come out until mid-late 2015, meaning we would probably get it fall of 2016.
1) EQN
2) Shards Online
3) The Repopulation
4) The Division
5) Star Citizen

anything in the list of "upcomming" mmo's doesnt even interest me even more.
reason for it is that all these "new" mmo's want to cash in on studio greed with cash shops and lame pay to win / pay to advance faster mechenics.
Waited years for ESO / Archeage.....
Think i lost hope for the mmo genre
Pretty much exactly how i feel.EQNext "kinda" because i have seen SOE ways over the last 5 years and it does not look good.Black Desert ONLY because it looks good,i somehow feel once in game i will be disappointed.
At one time i was on the edge of my seat waiting to see the NEXT released game ,however i have got a real good idea of what game developers are aiming for now days and it does not look good.I likely will not buy another single player game either, too linear and shallow for my liking.Moba's?I would quit gaming if all we had were Moba's.
Knowing that it takes a lot of money and manpower to make a great quality MMORPG,i do not see anything close in the near future, likely why i play far less gaming now and dabble a bit in Hearthstone a card game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
