I enjoy GW2 on occasion as something different to do from my main MMO ... but the game is extremely shallow. I mainly enjoy just dressing up my characters as 90% of running around in the (admittedly) beautiful world is ruined by super annoying mobs that stun, fear, pull, slow, etc. Anyways - the game *needs* an expansion - living world updates are better than they once were (except Scarlet Invasions..that was awesome,) but most of the game is the same old, same old. It has been 2.5 years - the game *needs* an expansion just to make the game seem fresh again. As a side note... even though it would be a pain to re-gear alts I almost want there to be a level cap raise - it would be some of the most entertaining forum PvP to watch...ever.
GW2 has been overdue for an expansion for a long time and ANet has milked their gems shop far to long. Just imagine where GW2 could have been had they had 2 expansions by now.. New areas , weapons , skills , enemies and possibly tweaked mechanics for better group play.
No polishing will bring me back any soon. They have revamp the daylies twice already...ok thnx but i´m tired of doing over & over the same dungeons...the same maps...
A BIG expansion pac is what GW2 needs.
The worst part is the silence from ArenaNet... Us fans of GW2 have nothing to look for in this game in the future...it´s all uncertain...there is nothing ahead...

well it is certainly pretty safe to assume we will get information on future content at the PAX conference at the end of this month, of course we cant know for 100% sure, but yeah, it should be interesting.
an MMO thats over 2 yeares old with no expansion and little to no new content from launch besides a handful of zones and your seriously asking people if they want new content?
People hate on WoW but at least WoW gets new content every year and a half. Its more then GW2 and ANET can say for there game besides a few tiny zones and new purses and dresses.

content, for goodness sake, content. new skills would be the best, but anything. god. i so want to get back into gw2, but there's nothing there for me whatsoever. not interested in mapping the world. not interested in the hellacious legendary grind. definitely not interested in doing the same stuff over and over again. there's just no staying power as it is. at the very least there needs to be reasons to repeat content that aren't just grinding for gold or skins.
This game has needed polish since 2012. It's needed balance in PVE since 2012. And it's had very little in the way of new content that's lasting that you don't have to buy just because you didn't login constantly. It's gone downhill since Nov 2012.
So really it's needed both but I do think that they've needed to follow the advice of veteran players who've all consistantly told them to fix the inherent problems with the design of this game as well as the bugs before putting out more content that way you can be assured that the new content won't come in on the heels of a terribly outdated system or some other problem that they decided would be a good idea that turned out to be terrible.
This game needs an expansion not simply because people are asking for one but because it's in dire need of an infusion of money to both update it to modern quality of life standards but to also get it out of the alpha testing phase that it's been stuck in in which the developers have decided to experiment with live servers rather than experiment with PTRs like other developers have done for years now. There's a reason why PTR systems work and it's to prevent your team from making terrible design choices and to learn from the playerbase what NOT to do before implementing them. It's also a good way of preventing press fiascos like the ones we saw with the gem to gold conversion and the Feature Pack 2.
I think they need to just cut the crap and quit being hipsters with the Living Story idea and release the standard expansions with the game as well. Either that or up their game and actually make the Living Stories real expansions to the game.

The cash shop is optional...unlike the sub fee of WoW for example......oh wait didn't you have to buy WoW expansions as well?Or are they throwing it after you?

3) GvG (yes, Open PvP in WvWvW maps or new maps)
