Any of you own one of these

I would really like to get some feedback on them

I own a Razer Nostromo and like it.  It's great for action games like Path of Exile or Torchlight 2.  I can't get used to the thumb stick though.

Could you elaborate why you cant use the thumb stick ?

It looks like it would work okay'ish for someone who is left handed perhaps, not many right handed people have that level of dexterity to be comfortable using their left hand in that way, if you can reconfigure the device for right handed use, then maybe, but a thumbstick either way is not an ideal controller method, and is probably better off not being there.image

Steelseries Merc. I never want to be without it. I just wish they would keep developing it.

actually that looks pretty good, with so many games having extended hotkeys etc, it would take a bit of getting used to but once you did it would be a definite advantage over a normal keyboard in games that had PVP.image

As a mmorpg player who likes atleast a minimum amount of socializing, I find it hard to dismiss the keyboard. You could replace that with voice chat or speech recognintion, but neither feels good to me.. Voice chat is a huge immersion breaker, and I feel so wierd talking to a machine (maybe that will come more natural to future generations).

So until the direct thought reading device (which isn't that far into the future), the keybord stays.

For a precision device with loads of buttons or functionalities, I think eye movement and eye/face expression recognition could be an alternative to the mouse at some point soon. And eventually direct brainwave pattern recognition devices.

For pure action gaming, I could see a combo of eye tracking and dual hand controllers..sort of like a fighter jet joystick for each hand, with axis' and buttons. That hand position feels good and relaxed and allows for alot of variety and fine control.

I want them to manufacture the Fang again.  It was just the part of the merc you show in the picture, but with thumb buttons on the side.  Keyboards are for typing.  My "keyboard" tray is not big enough for a mouse and keyboard, so I like to use a mouse and gamepad.  In addition, my gamepad has a lot more buttons and they are arranged better than a standard keyboard.

If anything, I just want a replacement for my aging Fang.

I have both the Fang and the Zboard (the one you can switch the key layouts )

The are good , but i find it its a bit small for may hand , and i have a  small hand compared to the average .

Also the inclination is causing the hand to tier fast .

These are some of the reasons i am trying to design this new controller .

The more i look in to it , it becomes clearer that it will have to be a split controller , one fro each hand with individual settings .

Or one universal controller that can be used for left and right hand  , and for those who chose to have both left and right at the same time

Ah .. quoting is a bit weird here ....

"It looks like it would work okay'ish for someone who is left handed perhaps, not many right handed people have that level of dexterity to be comfortable using their left hand in that way, if you can reconfigure the device for right handed use, then maybe, but a thumbstick either way is not an ideal controller method, and is probably better off not being there."

In any case , most of the motion or the game play is done via the left hand , the right hand is usually static on the mouse .

The most common concern about the nostromo that i have seen is that some of the keys including the thumb stick are out of reach , so you cant rest your hand on the device .

Again i have the Zboard device , which suffer from the same problem , at lest from my experience .

I want to get as much input so the device would be as comfortable as possible for all players .

I know this might be impossible , but , at least i can make it so most of the players can use it easily   , and at the same time spare the joints pain .

The funny part is I am left handed and still cannot get used to it.  It's nothing against the device just my tastes.  My thumb usually sits on the button above the thumb stick.  Most games I use the Nostromo with have no use for the the thumb stick so it's not a big deal.

One of my friends suggested a  a stand  that would allow the user to strap the controller to the leg and rest the hand on the controller

3D hand tracking is good for some games , and its a bit slow , not suitable for fast paced games or strategy games that require micromanaging .

Excellent idea , not the direction i would go in .

I own a g 13, And that device is no substitue for a primary controler or mouse.

Those devices are meant to be used in conjuntion with other devices.

    Very true .

This is another thing that i want to change .

At least for those that use voice chat  in the games .

As for mouse i have some ideas , for an improved mouse .....

My vision for PC gaming , in the near future at least , is having 2 controllers , that the player will not need to move the hands off them or on them , all the work will be done by moving the fingers only .
