My only 2 cents is that you should say you don't have to vote if you don't know what to pick (you don't know the games enough).

Surveys in general make you pick something, I assumed this like that. So I did just pick a couple just because.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, and it'll skew your results.

    All good though.

How about "Deep Down" for most anticipated rpg in 2015?

I don't know... I totally loved Shadows of Mordor but I was expecting it to be good so I wasn't really surprised. On the other hand I expected WOD to suck, so I was kind of surprised that I enjoy it as much as I do image

    Anyway, avoid this game.

Did you buy into it early or something?

I really think that all you guys at mmorpg.com need to sit down and have a more than serious chat (more than the last umpteen times I'm guessing) about what defines an MMO. For a lot of us an MMO is just short for MMORPG. I first started to observe this phenomenon in the mid '00s or so. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to take the lead on this considering what website you represent.

Thanks for the response though, I really do appreciate it.

I'm surprised the most improved MMO didn't include FF14. Other than that the entire list is meh.

I hunky hunk the problem is actually that most new games offer online grouping, it's all MMO, e.g if Diablo 3 (as an example) iis a MMO with lots of groups of 5 in lobbies then they all are.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

Wow.... i didn't realize just how bad 2014 was and how bad 2015 is going to be until I read all the crappy choices on these polls.

    1: Overwatch

    2: Don't know / Don't care

    3: Pillars of Eternity

    4: None

Lineage Eternal doesn't count as MMO? I am pretty sure it was going to be released in 2015.

I feel 2015 is going to be similar to 2014 in one thing. A great year for single player RPGs, but a freaking catastrophe worth forgetting quickly MMO-wise.

My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.

I also did not vote for category one, 'biggest surprise' Is one of the oddest categories I have ever seen. :D

Why is Trove not on the "Most improved MMO of 2014" list?

  • marcmymarcmy Member UncommonPosts: 95
Final Fantasy XIV should be on the list for Most improved of 2014, considering massively named it the most improved.

Currently playing: Elder Scrolls Online, Elite: Dangerous | Recently played: FFXIV, Rift, LoTRO, Diablo 3, Path of Exile, Guild Wars 2 | Single player RPGs: Dragon Age Inquisition, Skyrim

Shroud of the Avatar takes home the bacon for sure..

Lord British, save us all from the monotonous level grinding, 1 billion item games where you can never lose any of your gear, never own / customize a living space, never interact with the environment on a more granular level, never customize your characters skills outside of a locked down class!

LAME to all the typical MMO's that haven't broken out of the EQ cookie mold for the past century..

It's getting old, those games are dead. A new age is upon us MMO lovers!

Don't miss out, get in now on SotA while you can still be a veteran with all the knowledge and benefits that comes with that ;)

As soon as i saw ESO most improved i gave up XD
  • dllddlld Member UncommonPosts: 615

    1. Overwatch, I mean it's blizzards first new IP since forever it's also quite a deviation from their other games.

    2. GW2 simply cause I've not played anything else on the list long enough to experience any improvements if at all.

    3. Witcher 3, doesn't need any explenation.

    4. Eternal crusade, although pretty lukewarm but a 'ps2' set in wh40k should be good, I could put eq next but it was announced so long ago with little details since so it's hard to feel excited about it atm.

Seriously Bill..   argggh..   How can games like EQN be on a list for 2015 when it's NOT EVEN close to be released, and will be lucky to go live before 2017.. YET, Elite Dangerous which is a lot closer to live launch is left off..   WTF?

    1. WoW

    2. WoW

    3. dont care, Im a MMOer.

    4. EQN

When my wife said she wanted to go back to WoW I cringed. Have to say I am having so much fun and shocked at the quality and amount of end game. Story and questing is top notch. Unlike ESO phasing, WoW's phasing has not stopped my wife and I from teaming once.

2014 looks empty of hope for new MMOs. Only MMO I see coming up that holds any interest is EQN because of Voxel Farm and Storybricks. Waiting to see if it lives up to the legend. Even then I am not happy with the combat system as its looking and feeling more and more like GW2. David G said when its done, their combat will be nothing like GW2 but I need proof lol. Funny thing is, WoW maybe my main MMO for the next 1-2 years because of how 2015 looks. Didnt see that coming.
