If you put your fanboism aside, you will come to the conclusion that there are other explanations. Maybe they will give a free period for old subs to give them the chacne to re-try the game? it has happened before with other games and maybe it will with ESO as the game has improved alot since release.

Also, the whole F2P rumors are the company's fault. While some of the biggest gaming sites started to write articles about a possible F2P model, Zenimax didn't bother to give a straight explanation to kill all the rumors. Not that ESO will go free to play but the fact that Zenimax has beena avoiding all F2P questions lately is suspicious and more people will probably start to wonder if Zenimax actually has the F2P/B2P model as an option in the near future.

Well it could because he directly said in the "ESO Huge News" thread that ESO was going B2P??

As the old saying goes any press is good press, and the rampant rumors from the people saying they know somebody at Zenimax and therefor they know/believe ESO is going F2P/B2P has probably gotten more reads then all the recent champion changes etc. Zenimax must be loving the attention.

DmKano is just getting the main attention because he went out on a limb and said (A) Zenimax would make a huge announcement last week thus giving a timeline and that (B) in a second thread that the Huge announcement would be ESO going B2P

And most likely he believed what he wrote.  But since he does not have first hand knowledge, it was a rumour. Which is why the post went away.

As did the last post that had this type of post, as this one will i am thinking.

I agree and predict this thread will be locked by Monday much like the last 2.

Well, I think he alluded to it and was deliberately not being specific in order to rile people up.

Actually, he was specific. Just not on that thread:  http://www.mmorpg.com/showVideo.cfm/videoId/3955

    14th post:

"Heh - I made a thread on ESO going B2P yesterday - lots of folks calling me names etc... the usual lol (love my haters)

Bill says the same thing a day later - and the folks are doing a complete 180.

    Lol - gotta love that.

But yes ESO is going B2P - consoles MMOs + subs is a bad combination.

Incoming announcement in about 3 days from Zenimax - stay tuned for that"

Mind you, he got at least the date wrong ("3 days from now" meaning last Tuesday) so he may also have gotten everything else wrong.

Yeah that's really kinda going out on the limb there . DmKano pretty much threw away any street cred he had in that one and showed himself to pretty much be FOS. Sure maybe he really believed what he said as another poster [pointed out, but then we have plenty of mental institutes that have people in them that really believe they are Jesus Christ as well.

Idk the part that bothers me is like when he was dicovered to be using multiple accounts to hype/defend Arche Age he never returned to the thread with any explanation or even a simple "You got me". He's done the same with this topic. Instead of manning up and saying "I was wrong" (like i've had to do several times) he goes into hiding. To me that's almost as slimy as trolling.

Tinfoil hat time:... Maybe he did speak to someone and they eluded to an announcement that would make past purchasers happy.. He assumed it meant B2P, instead it was the layout of the champion system... Which did come out this week.

It would be nice if the site would just ban trolls like him.

This forum would be so much better if it wasn't F2P!  With all that sub money they could hire mods to ban kanos as they make new accounts!

That would be nice but he actually went around outright saying B2P elsewhere, and trolled the topic claiming a ZOS employee said the payment model wasn't changing.

He was clear on what he was saying, and deserves a nice vacation for his efforts.

OP, if you wanted a faster response from DMKano you should have named the title Archeage sucks or something.

He is always fast to pop up with sword and board in hand ready to defend that title

About ESO not going P2P or B2p.  A tacit admission is when you accuse someone of something and they respond with silence.  That's actually what ESO and is doing.  When asked about their payment model in the future they respond by repeating their current model, which doesn't confirm or denied the question about future plans.  When asked P2P/B2P question yes or no their response is silence, which in some legal systems is considered a yes.  One simple announcement of 'no' from a top CEO or passed down to the Devs from a top CEO would end the rumors but they haven't done that.

Ban him for lying. It's way over the top but I don't care, he's pretty much one of the biggest aids with the worst opinions in this forum.

Tacit - : expressed or understood without being directly stated

Implied admission is an admission that can be reasonably inferred from the act or statement of a party, or from a party’s failure to perform an act or make a statement. It is also called as tacit admission.

In FCX, Inc. v. Caudill, 85 N.C. App. 272 (N.C. Ct. App. 1987), the court observed that “implied admissions are received with great caution. However, if the statement is made in a person's presence by a person having first hand knowledge under such circumstances that a denial would be naturally expected if the statement was untrue and it is shown that he is in a position to hear and understand what is said and has the opportunity to speak, then his silence or failure to deny renders the statement admissible against him as an implied admission”.

Thursday's thread which was almost exactly like this one, got locked for "reopening a locked topic" just like this one will be once they notice it.

So where is the big announcement?

You can't hold an outsider to a date because that is FAR out of our hands as an outsider.

I think one would have to be EXTREMELY naive to not think it is most certainly going f2p.

It is also more than likely they were set to make an announcement but after seeing all the backlash and heat in the media, they are going to wait it out for a bit.

Also the timing is just not right, they are still accepting paid subs,so they cannot legally take advantage of those KNOWING they were going to offer it up for free a few days later.Every single sub would be allowed a refund. So i THINK they are goign to wait a full month, let those last subs run out then turn it over.

My guts says 3-4 weeks away for an announcement, perhaps a bit earlier because like i said you can't just toss it out there AFTER taking sub money.Point being if they plan on f2p in 4 weeks a statement probably in 3 weeks.

The servers, or shards, scale with population so it's difficult to tell how many people are actually playing.

I'm glad someone else understand that concept. Every time I mention that ZOS needs to say something, I get all kinds of people trying to "educate" me about why they shouldn't image

One would have to be equally naive to expect F2P when B2P makes the most sense for consoles.
