Hello,
I am stuck between the chairs.
After some long strugle I finally decidet I want to play a healer in a mmo once again but I just cant decide wich game to pick for me.
There are mainly 3 games I really enjoyed in the and I would like your opinion just to help me pick one.
The games are WoW, TERA and Final Fantasy a realm reborn.
I have some experience in all of them but never did I get to late or endgame contend, except when it comes to WoW.
Could you just write some reccomendations or opinions.
Thanks alot, hope you can help me settle down :-)

Vanguard had the best healing.
I have not played Tera, but if you liked WoW, I think Rift might be a good option. I think the healing in Rift is very close to WoW and Rift is FTP.

I will agree on Rift, Healing was a lot like healing in WoW, it had the same kind of pacing and you could form a UI that reminded of grid. You also had far more variety in options where you could use five builds so in that perspective it was better than WoW.
However, I have no idea what Rift is like during expansions since I only played the game when it launched and stopped playing ages ago.
SWTOR has some good healers too.
Agents/Scoundrels are healers capable of stealth and excel at HoTs.
Sorcerers/Sages are similar to WoW's Discipline Priests. They use shields and heals to keep their team alive.
If you prefer action combat then Neverwinter's also a good alternative, where you have more choice in what abilities to use and how to customize your Divine Cleric.

Well, if it's only those three, then obviously FF XIV, I wouldn't recommend the other two even for my adversaries but of course that's up to personal taste (and mind you, back in the days, during the short period I did play Tera, I played a healer. It's not bad, too bad the game itself is utter cr*p.)
If there's a room for others besides those three, I agree with Azaron above, Cleric in Neverwinter is fun, a much better pick than Tera.
My favourite healer is the bear in AoC, I just love to play shammy. Vanguard was nice too. LotRO's rune-keeper has an interesting mechanic (the attunement system) which makes healing quite fun (but if go with LotRO and want to be in the center of everything while having fun with healing - and also getting one-shotted all the time - pick the Defiler . Only if you like pvp, of course).
Rift's Chloro is fun too, if you don't mind the wow-ish setting, same goes for the 'mando in TOR (since Azaron only mentioned the Agent).
Oh, and if you like a more action-y gameplay, DCUO is pretty cool (but I admit I don't heal there much, trolling is more fun. Khm... not the bad kinda troll, troller means Controller )
edit: missed two of my fav. games from the list
so, in TSW maybe AR is the most fun way to heal, though not as effective as Blood/Fist. In STO you can build pretty unique healers, I liked for example when I put some hull heal on my tanking cruiser, it was like DT in AoC... tanking healers ftw.
D'oh! How could I forget Mercenary/Trooper?! I even have one of them that's heal specced. (Not to mention it's my most played class in general; though usually as a DPS spec)

Yep, since it's about fun healers, I added commando, maybe my favourite class, because it's fun. Agent has better story, but trooper has awesome companions. Love to annoy Jorgan and Elara, she's the best, hands down. I mean, ditching the Empire because those noobs doesn't follow their own procedures and regulations thorough enough? She's perfect
I take it you were also a DS Trooper? :P
Definitely one of the funniest experiences I've had, along with my DS Merc and Mako.

Had both, first was a true exemplar, "sir! yes! sir!"-kinda Garza's lapdog vanguard, but it was pretty boring... so the second one was a more darker and funnier character, with still some light and neutral choices, and also following orders (more or less) for Elara - but with the main goal of annoying the cr*p out of Aric loved to see those -50s popping up with him (even more so if it was accompanied by a +20 with Elara). I thought there's something in the bottom, maybe he snaps and starts a mutiny for taking over Havoc or something, but nope, he's too good in following orders.
I think, story-wise those are the most fun, LS Inquisitor, DS Knight, DS Sage (that's great), have a neutral Agent, a neutral Smuggler who's interested only in money and would sell anyone for a good deal. Also a neutral SW, with that the full LS never seemed "right" to me...
