I think updates should've been stricken from the first pick, mainly because that's so broad.
Add to that that every single one of FFXIV's updates were the largest of any game in history in terms of storyline addition, adding entire new systems (FC housing, several types of PvP, Marriage systems, Gold Saucer, desynth, barber, The Hunts, Beast Men Systems, Holidays, Lore Holidays, Grand company additions, Chocobo Training, Personal housing, Chocobo stables, Chocobo feeding/buffs/recoloring systems, gardening as it relates to chocobos, Mail Moogle, Soon-to-be chocobo racing, relic quests, etc... I'd be here another five minutes thinking / typing them all), updating old systems, adding sidequests (in addition to fan favorite Hildebrand), entire new races, multiple dungeons, crafting, dozens of dances / emotes that fans ask for, fan suggestions, graphics updates, fan service, general updates, new classes (also reworks), improvements to the LFG tool, etc. Most of the content in those patches are hard to find in even full blown expansions and they even go the the extreme to make 10-15 minute trailers showcasing a fraction of the stuff. Because there's enough content to do that.
Which leads back to the point of there being limited space and too many patches for people to shift through to understand the true depth of them all. Though I guess something had to challenge WoD -- a choice that others can get behind not out of a personal enjoyment of something, but to simply make sure WoW isn't there.
Though I wonder why they wouldn't do the same for "New MMOs" as there's nothing to stand against a name brand game.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
Lol if anyone actually votes for Lord of the Rings Online Update 15 in this flawlessly objective, rigorously scientific poll. A small collection of "collect 27 bear asses"-type quests ain't exactly in the same league as Warlords of Draenor. But, blind rabid fanbois will be blind rabid fanbois.
Now that ESO has accepted cash stores and "P2P", and screwed over the PC players who have been beta testing their console game for a year, its dismal failure as any kind of innovative MMO and its existence standing as an insult to the TES franchise is complete.
