For what it's worth we can all eat some crow in regard to Dmkano's predictions, on the other hand you can't really blame peeps for being skeptical about unofficial info posted on forums...You never know who it is saying what they're saying or why.
As for B2P IMO there goes the great updates we've been seeing, we'll be paying individually for stuff like that going forward, if we see any of it at all.
No need to. If you like the sub system that includes everything that will continue. If you buy a "plus" membership for any month, you get everything for that month. There is no need to buy the DLC separately unless you happen to be a F2P player and play just one DLC and not others while not paying the "plus" monthly sub.
So the choices are buy DLC and never sub or sub for a month or 2 and get to use all DLCs for those months.
It's a subtlety that seems to be getting lost in the shuffle that still biases this game toward a sub. And by the way, the 6 month sub is coming back except it will be called a membership instead of a sub,
Yeah I saw that part after making that post haha, still I am a bit worried about the nature of the game changing, as the sub model was chosen to offer it all in game without monetizing things people want. Which was one of the great things about the game for me. Seeing that cool helmet, or dye color etc... and knowing I earn it through game-play rather than monetized RNG.

I've been around on these forums long enough to know times will come when I have to say I'm wrong. This is on of those times. I did not think that ESO would switch to b2p. I'm not happy about it.
That being said, there will be no cash to gold conversion system and all cash shop items will be BoP. You will not be able to sell those items for gold. If there is one saving grace, this is it.
For those of you who wanted the change, gratz you got it. To DMkano, you still were wrong! Your were close enough though. Sorry for the William Miller references and about bringing up that AA situation.

Do you really think this had anything to do with players asking for it?I don't ,i am not saying i know because obviously i do not, however i am quite certain this had to do with NEEDING a lot of console sales,it is not cheap to port a PC game over to console and if a sub based game they would not get enough sales.
Point, well it is a selfish one for them, has nothing to do with player base wants.Of course they have every right to be selfish,it is their game, but they don't sit down eating caviar and watching big screen TV's living in luxurious homes without the supporters.
Personally i would feel extremely slighted, not only by their blatant lies but did you ever get a memo asking your opinion as a supporter?Even the dubious SOE USED to run constant questionnaires to players asking opinions on various ideas, including before they went cash shop and how we would accept a f2p server.THEN they went on to test the idea with 2-3 cash shops servers for idk ,i think was about 6 months or so.They made a crap load of money,i even remember Smedley said the Cali area were the biggest spenders.
Again point being there SHOULD be some respect to those who make them millions, you don't show that by lying to them and not asking any opinion on cash shop servers.
I can even point to this site, remember when they wanted to start adding more games than just mmopg's?I am certain 90% of us knew they would do it anyhow, however at least some form of respect was taken when they asked our opinion, that is how is SHOULD be done.

You can bet the bank they will eventually add paid dlc in addition to the plus membership.

Can't say that things won't change but they are starting off with a very light cash shop that sells mount skins, pets, costumes that you wear over your armor. potions, soul gems--all of it BOP, DLC and that's all. And if you sub for a month you also get 1500 crowns to spend. Depending on prices you might just be able to get most everything with a sub.
Cash shops tend to get more intrusive the more the company is relying on the cash shop for revenue. If the console release in any way follows a similar sales pattern as we saw with Skyrim, they're going to be selling a lot of boxes in June, I don't think they'll be hurting for cash any time soon.

Seems like they're doing what SWTOR does. I hope they don't have messages all over the place saying your're missing out if you don't have a premium account. And if you think lag is bad now, just wait.

If they bundle several DLCs, raise the level cap and call it an "expansion" I might see an extra charge but for now the statement is pretty clear:
"Members of ESO Plus will receive complimentary access to all DLC game packs for the duration of their membership."
They obviously really want you to still sub.

Don't read me wrong, I'll still be able to enjoy the game, as extras are just extras, but in red is the part that worries me. Selling this stuff is fair game, people do buy it, so I won't bemoan them for that... However that's the kind of incentive I like to find behind game-play, I'm not a gain power guy, I'm a make this toon "my own" kinda guy, so these types of things are what i like to earn. Not buy. I hope these things are still made for in game purposes.
