Very confused and need clarification?

I just started playing and I am so confused. I didn't really look into the game much before I paid to play. The videos looked cool and I am a Walking Dead fan so I thought it would be a good fit. I have a few questions.

So when I die I lose everything? Everything I just spent the last hour collecting? I mean I lose weapons, bags, all loot. I begin after death like I was a total new player.  If this is how it is going to be it doesn't pay to collect anything.

Now the air drops. I received like 4 of them when I signed up. I used one and nothing happened. However I saw a plane fly over or at least heard it cause it was foggy. I guess I assumed it would just drop at my location.  Then I find out I can lose this to other players. Why would I buy these then?

Interface? Is there one I am missing or is it in the works?
The game is hard to get into and if you don't use a mic you are dead. it is kill or be killed and I do like this but not at the cost of all my loot.

Yes you lose everything on you when you die but you have a few different options on saving your extra gear, you can dig a hole and make a stash, you can build a fort and craft a storage box or you can make another character and use them as a mule.  I made a little shack in the hills and no one has found it yet.

Yea im not sure why someone would get an airdrop either but maybe they like creating server events.

you can use your mic by pressing middle mouse button or numberpad 4

The game is not forgiving you will lose your stuff a lot (by design). It's best played with friends, safety in numbers.

H1Z1 is in a genre that you either love or hate.  It's a game that for the most part is mundane but you play it for those rare tense moments and player interaction.

Yes you drop everything its a survival game.. it pays to collect stuff and hide it away in a base, or in the ground :)

It drops within a 700m odd radius of you not on top of you.. Yes this is how its supposed to work. Why would you sue this ? Well it depends if you like to create a PVP or PVE hot spot then it can be a lot of fun and you could possibly get something out of it or lose everything.

I have no issues with the current interface, you can get your health stats up in game if thats what you mean is missing.. i think its the F key to get it up cant remember.

You are better off using a mic at least then you can beg for your life.. haha either that or team up with other people :)

Your loot? That loot was never yours in the first place. It's MY loot.

The pay you are talking about doesn't come in the form of owning loot but in form of the fun that you had all the way scavanging (looking for loot), hunting other people (or AI (ZzzZ)) or avoiding them, trying to survive. The thrill is suposed to come from dangerous world and the always  pending chance of loosing loot.

If you didn't have fun up to that point than why would you play anyway? Just to hoard?

The loot is gonna be a big problem for a lot of mmoers these days. The fact that when you die, you lose your stuff and have to start over. They are so used to accumulating elite gear, that the prospect of losing it or never getting it will drive them away

Its really quite different than most MMO's,

Im gonna play it though regardless. Is it worth the 19.99 for EA? does that buy a month or the whole beta?

Played:SWG(pre NGE/CU sucked)Yep its true, anyone who quit SWG because of the NGE/CU missed out on a much better combat system. DCUO, Fallen Earth, STO, The Secret World. Battlefield series. Planetside 2. Still playing SWG.

Always cracks me up when people say they want something different in an MMO, and then when they play something different, they say:

Why isn't this like the last MMO I played?

FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!

Also a question. How is tools respawning handled? Do they respawn at all or do i have to kill sombody to get one, if it is allready collected?

Tools will repsawn like all other items but.. reading an interview on here yesterday its more complex than that.. Takes into account the proximity of players to the loot spawn, the amount of players with the items and many other things.

They are worknig on the loot balance all the time.
