F2P doesn't work for this kind of games

You know what will happen when the game goes to open beta? It will immediately be infested by bots and gold sellers. Sure they will be banned... and come again as it won't cost anything.

They can't kill bots and RMT in subscription based EVE Online, and in F2P Albion Online bots and RMT will kill the economy in mere months if not weeks.

Eve online has gold farmers? Hmm not that I've seen any or many, I am sure they have some but nothing like you see in most MMOs. Now multiboxers yes. However, botters gold farmers or not they don't really harm the economy all that much. EVE inflation rate has been stable for 12 years and running now. So really the boxers and gold farmers don't contribute harm to the economy.

Now as for your comment on AO, I completely agree. I don't think AO's gameplay fits with F2P model. The problem I see is the way the company will generate money is from gold sales, but for players to buy gold the devs will need to give them a reason too which is to restrict silver access or have high fees (both of which we're witnessing now).

But lets assume that the devs removed the high fees and restricted access to silver. Well the only problem I see is how they have the crafting system setup. The problem with this crafting system is that players have to produce dozens to a few hundred items to progress to the next teir or mastery level of crafts. Obviously when you have hundreds or thousands of players all on one server doing the same thing (even at different rates) you're going to have nothing but an economy full of items, and not because the market demands them but because players are trying to skill up.

This is why I do like eve's skill training method because it circumvents all the useless you need to make hundreds of amount of weapons or armor and ejecting it all into the economy BS, devaluing the value of crafting.

I googled "buy gold eve" and found a seller in under 30 seconds.

Ok and? Like I said they don't really harm the market. I mean there's very little difference between buying plex and buying isk from a gold seller.
