Originally posted by Nightbeard WvW keep karma zergs are the worst. It's not even pvp just follow the blue dot and farm karma. A net needs to take inspiration from MOBA games and add objectives that matter and alter the outcome. There should be pve merc camps all over the place and advanced siege platforms to capture. Adding more objectives spread about than a zerg can physically get to will split the zerg and as a happy consequence break the keep flipping cycle
Well, it sounds like they will reward people for protecting keeps. Also the EotM revamp will be welcomed.
I don't think mounts are "necessary" but I would still like them. Something that would give me a 50% speed boost at all times while active, which is a decent boost considering I can permaswiftness on my engineer... and getting across the map is still a chore in areas I haven't gotten all the waypoints, or areas the waypoints are contested.
I kind of agree about the issue with conditions... though I do feel condition builds are somewhat viable.. but balancing in PvP is kind of tough. They aren't exactly a strong force in PvP as generally burst still wins - in just about every situation including PvE. I'm not really sure how to fix this... I've played condition builds that I loved, but I never felt exceptionally powerful in either PvP or PvE. And unfortunately some builds, such as Pistol engineer are ALL conditions making it feel generally less viable than rifle.
Anyways.. I also agree about the collections and achievements. I ran a number of dungeons a long time ago and it says i'm close to completion but I don't know which ones I haven't run yet... so now I'm forced to find a group for all of them... and dungeon runners are jerks generally if you don't know the paths of a dungeon. I'd rather have to deal with that once instead of 3 times.
TRAIT ICONS!!! FUKIN CREATE SOME TRAIT ICONS! USING PLACEHOLDERS FOR 3 YEARS IS JUST SUPEREMBARASSING really, I love the game - I recently returned to it ( love the new 1-20 progression, though I have like 10 boosts to lvl 20 which kinda makes me not to enjoy it)
But those roman numerals trait placeholders are so dumb..:(((
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them
Can you get as good of gear in WvW as in PvE yet? I left this game over a year ago when they added some better gear you had to PvE to get (wasn't the only reason). Can't remember the details now. If they at least make the maps bigger, promote less zerging and keep flipping, and let me progress in WvW exclusively, it would be a start in making me think about coming back.
1- Make all conditions character unique (Bleeds, Burns, etc). Like they should have been from the start. Nothing like coming into a fight to throw all your burns and bleeds on, and be completely useless because there already at stack cap. It's ridiculous, and honestly I don't know how they still haven't changed it. It's so obvious!
2- Make more dedicated class roles. I'm not saying bring back the Trinity of Tank/Dps/Heal, but something really needs to be done in terms of PvE balance and stat priorities.
3- More abilities, more meaningful choice. When most of your 'talents' boil down to "which one sucks the least' instead of 'which one isMORE badass' than the other. Almost all of the talents and traits in this game are laughably boring and bad.
4- More weapon types. Give us more weapons to use, and more skillsets per weapon. Have there be a Heavy Attacks/AoE build for dual wielding one handed swords, as well as a Fencing/duelist/speed build. There is too little choice in this game.
5- Mods. Let us mod the games ui, add a combat log and damage tracker. Additional Hotkey slots, keybinds, and more UI options PLLEEEEEASE

- Extra slot bar with 5 spaces for easy access to "consumables/food" kept in the bag
- 3-4 build/equipment templates that you can change "on the go"
