I'd have to say..pong was my 1st but what really got me liking video games was Mike Tysons Punchout NES. and Legend of Zelda NES. Really loved the Contra series alot and to this day cannot understand why Konami hasn't done more with that line in the new game systems.
Also the old Intellavision games, at the time, was great too.
My first computer had a cd full of "breaking edge" games... First time I loaded up wolfenstein 3d shareware it was on.... then I found out about multiplayer online via Kali for duke 3d and a litle bit from old old aol online game station(they had this really sexy air sim). As for mmorpgs... I think the first 1 that I started out with was Graal Online(sue me.... it was like mmo zelda and I had alot of fun in the social aspect of it... basically like an online chatroom. The game that probally made me very enthusiastic was Quake 1 and playing it on Mplayer
edit: BTW I got quake for free packaged with a thrust master jot stick
The answer would be Pac man. In order to respect the spirit of your question(about fun factor involved), it would be the Dark Queen of Krynn.
Pac Man, Asteroid, Gorf, Golden Axe, The Bard's Tale, Dragon's Lair, The Sword of Aragon, The Dark Queen of Krynn(and the previous 2 titles)
Althought many titles where great fun and I did enjoy them a lot, you can either say I start with Pac Man(not that motivated) or The Dark Queen of Krynn(fall in complete love). Each title in that order mean a HUGE difference in enjoying the game and actually making fun...The Dark Queen of Krynn would rate like a level 10 Storm while each other title drop by 1(and yes it it exponential). A game like let say, Celtic Legends, would have rate as well as Sword of Aragon approximatively, but I experience it later in time, and the question was about the game that start you on the computer and you enjoyment.
''Online'': It would have to be SRE or Global War, althought I did try Kannons & katapults or Legend of the Red Dragon, my online fun start with SRE or Global War, full ''diplomatic PvP'' game in the case of SRE, the victory was all about intimidation and gaining a psychological edge. All while using the ubah Jr.Comm toolsets and playing ASKI games!

Ahh I remember so many of those games. I freakin loved Super Nintendo when I got that. I believe my favorite game was Metroid.
I think the first game I really enjoyed and started my love of games was Zelda on my brothers SNES, I could only play when he wasn't around or I'd get the controler thrown at me followed by a scream "Girls, don't play video games !" which in turn only pushed me to get better and better at them. Yup... the day I beat Zelda before all my brothers even got close was so awesome.
The first game I played is different from the game that made me go nuts over video games.
First one I played? I honestly don't remember. It might of been something on the Vetrex.
Game that made me fall in love with gaming? Y's Book I&II on the turbographix cd. Everything about the game was top notch. The story was very well done. The voice acting and music are still probably the best in any game I have played since. I mean it's been 15 years since I played it and I still remember the intro...
Y's, the ideal utopia. Once a country full of peace and prosperity. A country where childrens hearts are as free as the wind. A country ruled by it's 6 priests and 2 beautiful godesses and watched over by the mysterious power of the black pearl. Y's a country pulled from the height of civilization to the infinate abyss of endless isolation. What could cause such a country to disappear? The mystery has been silenced for over 700 years... And now the mystery unfolds...
Atari VCS, it came with "Combat". The VCS was later known as the Atari 2600.

Way back when I had a calico vision system when I was little, and would spend hours chalking the points up in "Asteroids" and "Frogger". It didn't really start to fly until the original NES was released, and I forgot what the sun looked like.
I remember the calico, it was pretty cool when it came out. I also remember the oddesy system.

the first game i played was probably "tennis", when one of my friends had in the 80ies ATARI 2000 Station
and the first game i really played hours and hours was "space invaders" on my c-64
First time I played Space Invaders in a roller rink in the late 70's. That was the first hit of video game smack for me...I was hopelessly addicted.
