Was fun, turned into typical cash grab. I guess that's Trion for you.

I'm sorry but i think the OP is exaggerating. While i would say yes to P2W, it's the most boring uninteresting type of P2W i've every seen in my life. Yeah you can min/max, but no one will give a rats ass expect yourself. This isn't like WoW where guilds min/max to stay competitive, you craft, gather, run dungeons, collect loot for the pure sake of enjoyment.

Also the masteries feel pointless, not  at any point do i check what level or mastery i'm at or feel the need to. I could bet if they removed the stats gained people would never notice or not care.

Basically to some the level it's at, you pay for advantages no one cares about or it's like P2W in a single player game.

Not a fan of Trion, i just don't see what the OP is getting at with this game. Nothing pushes you to the cash shop. The only people i can see using it are those who, out of their own choice buy something or those who want to collect everything.

When those kind of items came up in arch age trion said it was the devs idea, strange that the same stuff and mechanics come up now in trove.

if its like arch age it will get worse and worse

I get the impression that people who use the term "pay to win" are mostly cheapskates who don't want to pay anything if they can help it. Quite how they think a F2P can be made to repay the producer's costs without a cash shop I really can't comprehend. Trove is one of the best F2P games out there for players. There's an enormous amount of content available without paying anything. I've been playing on and off for the past few months and the only time I paid anything after alpha access was for the game pack that came out with the wings expansion and that cost me peanuts.

Well no, like i said P2W in this game is so pointless and has no impact, but in Archage it has major impact on everything, economy, PvP, etc.

The two games are set up to be played completely different ways, Trove being driven by pure enjoyment and Archage by the competitive race

so, could anyone name the items that make the cash shop OP?

or will you guys just randomly smash at trion here?

i don't see too many OP items in there, some blocks, mounts and a class token thingie.

so seriously, after 5 pages, someone finally should name the stuff that made you go rage against it.

Yes, I understand that.  I don't mind putting money towards a game I enjoy.  I don't like the majority of development driving me towards the cash shop.  In fact, I was happy putting $20 per month towards the game, but when it gets to a point that I can't purchase everything + extra fun stuff with $20 monthly, I'm out.

Makes me miss the days of $15 monthly subs that included the whole game and all content being developed for it. :(

So what your saying is you don't like F2P games, they erode gameplay, well welcome to the club, I am one of the founding members.

It's the costumes (or so someone claimed here)! Because if you collect hundreds of skins, your mastery level may rise and you could end up with 3% damage increase.

Apparently, this is super important in a game where all enemies die in 2 hits anyway.
