Woo hoo! More freedoms taken away! Now the FBI can obtain any records they want without a judge's approval.

It is not like they couldn't do this before, but now they can do it and use it against you before the court issue.

The point is that now they don't need a subpoena at all. They now just get to do what they please. That includes things such as writing their own subpoenas, going to an IP, and demanding logs now. Just a minor example, but no more torrents for me. image

Do you guys ever read what you bitch about?????

the Patriot Act in all forms says this information is inadmissable in court except for to indite/arrest you.

basically if they arrest you and dont find bombs, excessive weapons, plans to blow up buildings. You are free.

but if they do then they STILL CANT USE THE INFO GATHERED, in court.

so im not worried about it if its being used as it legally should.......

Not being worried about ANY changes to laws that affect personal freedom is basically what governments rely on to take them away.

It seems that as long as you show a picture of the national flag and mention the word terrorism, you can pretty much change any law you want and people will "not worry about it"

your right, once they admit they have found no evidence that you have commited or supported terrorism, they have to release you. But, they can hold you as long as your considered a suspect, in short they can continue to search for evidence for 20 years while your being detained.

Reread my other post. That doesn't just take into account "terrorist actions". They can do it for anything.

  • VampirVampir Member Posts: 4,239

so what even if you are not a terrorist, they can gather info to get an arrest warrant on you then NOT USE IT IN COURT.

i dont see the big deal, only those with deep dark things to hide will have this hurt them.

Anyway, as far as a things violating "US Citizen Rights", there's alot going on in the government that people don't realize. No, I'm not talking about "conspiracy theories" or anything, I'm talking about first hand knowledge stuff.

Another interesting thing about the United States: I know a Financial Advisor who had some clients who were moving to Saudi Arabia. He was setting up life insurance policies for them. When he was quoted a cheaper price for the policy when they were in Saudi Arabia than in the US, he questioned it. The insurance agent told him that policies written for people living in the US and Japan are the highest rates out of any country because of the number of deaths due to something other than "natural causes".

As the article states, the bill is still under review. Besides, what information do you think corporations already don't have you. ::::35::

Watch the movie "In the name of the Father" to start to realise where this sort of thing is going.

    .. all amerekans are criminals..
That is why they have to have ID/ permission to enter/leave the country. And why they have to bribe their government to 'purchase' approved items or even give items to others.
Even though the US is the largest debtor nation (+8 TRILLION $s) it still considers it's economy is the best in the world!
Even though the US makes a huge amount of $ selling weapons and wmd technology to the rest of the world it still has the nerve to try and prohibit other nations making a buck doing the same.
Even though the US has a history of fire and fission bombing civilian targets (women, children, hospitals, ect) it has the nerve to complain when other's intend or actually bomb similar targets!
The US prides itself for it's $ skewed legal system , even though the patriot act allows it to secret away undesirables or those that do not "think right" and not only hold and torture them indefinatly they can even be executed while in custody, after all who do they have to answer to.. that guy was never in our custody.. prove it!!
The US has a history of setting up corrupt gov'ts in other countroes (eg. chile, nicaragua) then complaining when other countries do the same thing. The US refuses to stop poluting the environment then says further studies are needed over the next couple of decades while it keeps on poluting.
The US has a serious industry maintaining a long term and to be executed later prison population and nearly exterminated and deceived through bogus- land stealing "treaties" it's native population but continues to maintain an air of superiority about "human" rights. All the while being one of the leading nations that supports abortions and selling drugs at 5 and 10X nationally vs the price those same drugs are sold to the rest of the world.
So... is it the citizens, or the US gov't/industry that is the criminal?!

Yes, because someone who comes from America is probably being brainwashed about how bad their own country is (check the user info) .::::35::

For the people who don't live in the U.S you don't have a clue what is going on here, and really don't have a right to judge because the majority of european countries are being taken over from the inside by Islam and terrorists. The purpose of the patriot act is to prevent a potential terrorist from plotting a terror attack. The act by passes the downfalls of the legal system and allow the FBI and Homeland security forces to quickly and efficiantly obtain information without a legal hassal. If your not plotting a terrorist attack or support terrorism then you don't have to worry about your library history being looked at, or your internet activity, or your phone calls ect.

If you ahve a problem with this then seriously go to another country and see how it is, I did and i lived in Australia for 1 1/2 years. I could not be so grateful to be back to a country where Islam hasnt totally dominated the region and intimidates the police force.

I was a Muslim for 8 years and studied in Islamic universities and Masjids. I have trained with terrorist cells and attack groups. I know what a threat it is and how it is infiltrating the west. I already made a post about this, BUT take a look if you havent bothered to look at this and you will have a SMALL glimpse of what Islam is starting to do now in the U.S openly....I'm quite suprised they scurried out of the saftey of the Masjid and come on the streets now openly expressing themselves.

I also find the video quite humorus when they start saying, "muslims don't be afraid, we are protected under their laws to say what ever we want, unlike other countries, this country we can say whatever we want." lol i couldn't believe what a moron he and the rest are. In a real Islamic government "Caliphate" speaking against the Khalif = death, and it is a Theocratic dictatorship.
