Need help for new build

Hello guys.

 

I have decided to return to ESO, to start from scratch with everything and so im gonna need MMORPG's help with this.

 

Let me quick explain what kind of class i want to play, so i can get your guys recommendations. Think Paladin inspired type with 1h + shield and 2h weapon. (Retri/Tank-ish from WoW)

 

Race: What race should i go for?

Class: Templar

Armor: Heavy armor, right?

Weapon: 1h + shield, 2h for second bar? 

Stats: What main stat should i go for? Health, Magicka or Stamina? Or split?

 

* Side question: What side would u guys start with?

* Side question(2): Can i avoid crafting? Because i really fucking hate crafting

    Have you seen the site Deltia's Gaming? He has pretty good builds that might help you tweak what you're looking to build. I've used his duel wield sorc build to some success with a few tweaks just for PVE.

    On crafting just harvest some mats to sell in guild store.

    Race: What race should i go for? As of this coming week, Bosmers have the best stamina regeneration passive giving you 7/14/21% in-combat stamina regeneration... Imperials, Nords and Orcs are also good for tankish builds.

    Weapon: 1h + shield, 2h for second bar? The other way around... 2HD is better for leveling 1-15 Use the Brawler Morph for AOE + a damage shield... use the Puncturing Sweep morph for AOE + self heals.

    Stats: What main stat should i go for? Health, Magicka or Stamina? Or split? 2:1 ratio of Stamina : Health.

     

    * Side question: What side would u guys start with? Aldmeri Dominion... but that's entirely up to you

    * Side question(2): Can i avoid crafting? Because i really fucking hate crafting Yup. There are enough good drops without crafting... although it will be tougher to gear-up with the sets you want at max level unless you know someone who will craft it for you.

    Dang, had made a High Elf for the Magcika regen for a litle use with the Ardritch Spear (Class)

     

     

    Isnt it the same thinkg in case a person chooses Dragon Knight?

    Since you want to use 2 weapons, 2HD and 1HD+Shield that use stamina, I assumed you wanted to emphasize a stamina build.

     

    High elves are the best class for light-armored Magicka builds who will usually then take a Resto staff for one of the weapons- not what I think of when I think Ret paladin.

     

    It's only staves that benefit from stacking magicka / magicka regen.

    I could be wrong, but I think stam is/will be more important for tanking because of blocking. With the heavy armor buffs I don't think you will have to worry much about magicka regen. Also with 1.6 there are stamina versions of class skills. This could potentially cut down on your magicka use. 

     

    As Iselin said Bosmer will have the highest passive regen, but while in combat Redguard still may edge them out do to Adrenaline Rush, which scales with your max stamina. Plus you still get 10% passive regen and 10% max stam. 

     

    Hopefully a pve guy with magicka tanking experience will post to give you the other side of the coin.
