RSI made a mining mini game for you to enjoy. Its a browser game. If you are a backer with an account, you should log in. You can then close the tab any time and it autosaves. For the others i recommend to play it through in one go (tip: improve prospection, makes everything faster).

Backers get a "Prospector" badge and a small reward. I guess the others get only the reward.

Tip from a "prospector" - stay cautious and silent, if you know what i mean ;-)

PS:

I relish the tears of the EVE mining botters that try to do bot mining in SC ....

(start mining bot ... "wait, there is a spike in the laser altimeter data indicating a tremo..." .... BOOM .... next bot please)

Almost as funny as bumping bot miners away from asteroids in EVE with a battleship on ram speed ;-)
