Believe in MAGICK?

MenwMenw Member Posts: 38

I'm wondering if there are any other members here that believe in magick? By magick, with the "k" I refer to the use of supernatural properties or energies, so to speak, to do or bring about something (an action). Think about Tolkien's novels. I hope this helped. image

Surely sir...Magic is a rather general term. Personally I'd have to hear what exactly you refer to before actually giving an answer to your question.

as Finwe said it really depends on what you mean by "magick" -- which has many different definitions. I'd go with the biblical response, but I'm not sure exactly what  you mean yet...

http://skepdic.com/magick.html - this link may help you what is really meant by MAGICK

Magick is the alleged art and science of causing change in accordance with the will by non-physical means.

Well if your talking about the kind of magick where you throw a fireball from your hands, then no I dont, even though that would be awesome.

It depends on what you mean by magick.

Theres very thin invisible thread tied from under the persns lip, or behind their ear, to the card, its very thin. when they throw it it simply spins on the thread being controlled by the persons hand, by having the thread between fingers.

You can buy the invisible thread, and clear magicians wax to make the thread stick to the top middle of the card from any magic shop or on the internet.

    quite simple to do.

yeah i do believe in magick. If there are magicians and witches doing witchcrafts and all that, then magick is probably true.

  • MenwMenw Member Posts: 38

I believe magick is very real. Very few have ever managed to tap into it. You need a lifetime of dedication to the art in order to get anywhere. I have proven my point. There are more skeptics that non-skeptics. image

Well, I think everyone has pretty much made their point of"it depends on what kind of magick" so now I'M wondering what menw meant by "do you believe in magick?"

    SO...please tell me, Menw.

I know that you're hiding things
using gentle words to shelter me
your words were like a dream
but dreams could never form me...
    Not that easily

    I acted so distant then
didn't say good-bye before you left
    but I was listening
you'll fight your battles far from me...

Really? Hrm.. that must be some super fine thread because I was not standing more than 3 feet from the guy and I didn't see any thread... I think there's a magic store out in Myrtle Beach where my mother lives... we're going to visit her in like 2-3 weeks.. I'll have to stop in there and see if they have that stuff...

I think Menw updated the original post. They were speaking of magic like that of Gandalf in the Tolkien books.

It comes pre-stripped or not. it's a special kind of thread it's pretty durable and can be stripped to be thinner. 1 strand is 99.9% unnoticeable. no one's ever seen it on me before, ecpecially if you wear darker clothes, but it doesnt really matter.

Then you also need Magicians Wax.

Take about an arms length of the thread (stripped) and tie one end to a piece of scotch tape, and put it inside the corner of your mouth, no one will notice.

Then the other end gets rolled in a bit of the wax and placed in the middle of a Card or coin. make sure to apply only a bit not too much wax.

Then, Spin the card or coin (cards are best) and it floats. (Use your hand to control, put the thread that's inbetween the card and your mouth (it should be at about belly button - waist level) inbetween your thumb and fingers to control it. it's simple. image

Well, well, well to my surprise the majority of people that checked out this thread believe that there is a powerful art called "magick," yes, like the superb Tolkien novels. That makes me happy. image

  • VercadesVercades Member Posts: 1,065

Magic is just a representation of a person's reaction to a specific thing, or action that one person doesn't understand.  If we were to go back in time and play a tv, dvd player and, some dvd's infront of Issac Newton he'd surely scream to the top of his lungs that it is sorcery or magic.  Since man has grown in knowledge and experimented countlessly as a part of life we have learned many things.

Magic isn't real it is just a matter of one knowing and the other not.

Now faith and prayer... that's a different story. image

  • AdrealAdreal Member Posts: 2,087

    magick

If you're talking about ritualistic worship of a god or godess, combined with prayer to that god or godess, then yes - I believe in magick. I don't practice it, nor do I condone it, but I do practice prayer - to one God. If you're talking about hollywood magic, then I believe in that too. We just generally have a different name for it: technology and slight of hand (sp?). Anything that is wonderous and is unexplainable is magic or (if done by a divine being) a miracle.

magick is as bunk as any other paranormal or god belief. It's simply a load of b.s.

Of course, if you have sooo much faith that your magick is real i know a guy who wants to pay you a million to prove it...
