So i came here to voice my opinion on why this game is turning awful very fast and we are not allowed to talk about things we don't like on the official forum......and literally the first post i make gets locked with no reason explained to me why.. Awesome first impression. i guess the internet is just full of ZOS sympathizing sheeple. If i cant give legitimate concerns on this site without worrying about having my content locked.....ill just use a different site.

ah, you only joined the site on the 28th, have posted 3 posts and you say your first post was blocked. maybe it was not blocked just because you were critical of ZOS, but more from how you were critical in your writng and the way you said things?
not suggesting you only created the acct to be a troll, but other people have been critical of the game and not been blocked so must have been some post for that to happen. maybe it breached t&c's for posting on this forum?
i look this wrecked because i've got GIST.
Whats your excuse?

people are critical of every single game on these forums, don't make me laugh.
I would not be critical so much of TESO but the owner ZENIMAX,blatant liars and should have been called out by every media site, that is IF they respect their viewers.
After all THIS site posted the blatant lies by ZENI as they were told them and imo should not have done that without proof, they went on heresay when 90% of the readers knew it was total bs.I refuse to beleive this site was not intelligent enough to at least think hmm, this doesn't sound right, maybe we better not post ZENI lies untilwe are sure, but that didn't happen.
I do not like developers who blatantly try to rip off their supporters,it really does not sit well with me.ZENI now joins NCSOFT,SOE,Hasbro and EA as some of the most devious developers out there.
Notice how i did not mention Blizzard and i can't stand Blizzard games, however as a business, they always seem FAIR and don't rub anyone the wrong way nor do they create much negativity either.Perhaps that is one reason why Blizzard is so successful reputation does go a LONG way.

you have account on official forums with same name.
Anyone can go check your posts on official forums, well not removed ones obviously, but regular ones will suffice. You came here because official forums are over moderated? You'll be in for a surprise. This Forum is heavier moderated and censored than the German press in 1940.
You use terms like: White Knight or Fanboi, banned! Call someone a Troll and you are flaming, call someone a Flamer and you are trolling, banned! Post a funny meme picture, banned! Correct someones spelling, banned. Disagree with someone, banned!
Pressing the reply button is pretty much Russian Roulette here.
I guess it's because advertisers don't like it when sites like this show up on Google as the #1 hit for phrases like: "ESO sucks" or "I rather cut my balls off and feed them to the dog than play ArchAge".

PS: I probably get banned for this post because it's "overly negative" which can get you...yes you guessed right, BANNED!
I have stated my opinion lots of times about zenimax and got banned for it,they disgraced the elders scrolls franchise and it was a clear money grab.
zenimax are scum!
... which really doesn't answer their question.
As for being critical on these forums...
It's very hit or miss. Some posts that are completely harmless are edited/removed, while others that are flat out trolls/flames or what-not are left alone... even right in the same thread. Posting here can be kinda like negotiating a mine field.I haven't been banned here since jan 8th 2012 (looked in my msg folder for the last one)...Barely a handful of warnings since, plenty of negative things said in that time. It's not what you say, it's how you say it.
For every minute you are angry , you lose 60 seconds of happiness."-Emerson
Since we didn't actually see your post it is kinda hard to say what is right and wrong here.
Well founded critisism stated in a helpful manner is good for the devs, not bad and not listening and even delete that is bad for the game. All games can be improved and knowing what the community like and dislike about a game is crusial for the devs to help them improve the game.
But just pointing out that stuff sucks isn't helpful at all, particular if you are angry and rude (even if listing the stuff you like and dislike can be helpful for the development of new content).
Some devs are good and listens to the community (always acting on what members of the community suggest might not be good though, in some cases a small but loud group demands something but when you implement it you find out that a majority of the players liked the old way better). And some things just can't be done for various reasons, like economical or practical, or they might sound fun in theory but just not work out.
I have found that reacting on the topic and not on the person keeps me from getting temporary banns.

Nah, i got a warning posting a meme picture on the topic not in reply to anyone. Reason: Overly negative.
The moderation here is just out of whack and completely unprofessional similar to the articles.
It's a fun site though if you like to have a giggle about the hype and the drama that follows. Journalistically however it's the bottom of the barrel.

PS: Probably just discussing moderation is considered overly negative and can get you a warning. We shall see.
Some people don't get it, you can't attack the poster with name calling, which includes specifically calling someone a fanboy, white knight or troll. You may speak about such terms if you turn them into less specific verbs such as saying there's no need for someone to white night all the time, as games don't care or something like that.
Also, helps to read the TOS here, and you'll learn the rules, such as complaining about the moderation can get you banned. Proper process is to appeal any bans to MikeB and on many occasions he's overturned mine. (And some he didn't of course)
As you said, it really is how you say it, and I get tripped up trying to use snarky humor or commentary, or by just derailing the thread with a left field failed attempt at humor.
I have always felt when you first join a new forum you should refrain from starting new threads until you better understand the community, in my own case I probably had over 100 replies in existing threads before I created my first thread, and even then the responses I received were a bit withering.
There is no shortage criticism of ESO, or Zenimax here, done a fair share of it myself, but they do try to eliminate some of the hatred and vitriol that gets posted here. While some folks here say the moderation is heavy handed here, most outsiders disagree and feel not enough is done to control the discussions.
I find it to be just about right, hence why I've continued to read and post here for so long, much better than any official forum or fansite.

Yes, it's true, they do ban you, unless you're careful and informative. But I will tell you that people on forums only represent about 20 % of the player base - they're actually people who like to talk about their games - negative or positive with a few who really suck at keeping up with the forum clique and the rest following the sparky snobs who create, in general, an atmosphere of popularity and fancy finger tapping surprises that generate looks. Forum communities are not the people you're looking for, they are terrible people and the good ones are always fighting or floating about in their lonely awakening.
I Shava will tell you personally that the rest of the 80% buy games because they're consumers, they don't talk and they let the spoon feed fell them up with hype syrup, mainly because the marketing power is in the hands of the cash driven corporations and the willing donations of the duped. The popularity of reviewing games and being "part" of the game have driven sales from gaming markets that know - the players will build for them. Gaming is more than ever a social endeavor than a game will ever be again. A carnival haunted house with peekaboo physics.
I too fear the route that ESO is spiraling into, while it was a slow downward curve we now find that it's plummeting for certain player types who do care about the depth of the game they play - while the forum pate' call care to immersive and the groupies respond with tee hee and nuk nuk forum style sheeple pvp who have built games into a social race that favors pop-politics.
It's ok, you just desire more from your game experience and marketing suggests you and I will never get it as long as we live.
I have been really critical to ZoS the day they announced the B2P deal and how the loyal ones are getting screwed for testing the game for them the last year. Never been banned but have had 2 messages asking me to be cool. The OP clearly has used words that will get him banned over there and has been. He clearly has a problem with how he explains the problem he has with the game.
On MMORPG I been banned a few times and after growing up some (yes old men still can grow up) I changed how I attack a game so I won't get banned. Mods are not trigger happy they just look for the key words or phrases you use then let you know what is going to happen.
Both ZoS and MMORPG have fair mods that do a great job. A job I clearly would not want!

As other posters have said - it is often how you deliver the message than the message itself. Personally I can't say what will get a warning or a ban as I have never had it happen to me.
I would assume that if you stay away from inflammatory rhetoric you will have a better chance. Also if your posts are reasoned and don't just say 'it sucks' you shouldn't have to worry.
I could be wrong of course
I've gotten temporary bans twice on this site over the years. The only bans I've gotten ever, anywhere, in the entire history of the internet I may add. Both times (I think) it was for expressing my hatred of the art style in Asian MMO's in a pissy way. I remember being totally shocked that what I wrote was ban worthy both times. I learned my lesson though. Don't make fun of kitten ear tiaras on MMORPG.COM. Also, if you see an anthropomorphic squirrel creature running around in a game with a weapon bigger than a street lamp just ignore it. Do not say anything about it here. You will be better off.
I do agree that these forums are overly moderated. I find that more offensive and unpleasant than any post that they have locked that's for sure. I'd rather have to suffer the odd troll than have someone else decide what I can and can't read.
I hate the cancerous mouldy vagina of a game, I dont think I've been banned for saying so (and I'm usually banned half the time)

Being critical is fine. I will unlock your previous thread. But I will say this: if you've created an account here at MMORPG.com just to grind an axe about a particular game, that's not going to work for us. Posting negatively day in and day out about a particular game or topic is disruptive and we do not allow this.
I would gladly encourage you to write up a review post outlining all of your criticisms if you're seeking to vent about your frustrations with this game. But if you're looking to respond to every ESO thread you find to tell people not to play the game or explain why the game sucks, that's not going to fly.
Just wanted to give you a heads-up as a new member of our community.
@Bascola: Personal attacks are personal attacks. The problem isn't with us, it's with this sort of behavior. Believe it or not, calling someone a white knight, fanboy, or troll aren't the makings of constructive discussion. Try it with someone in person sometime and see how it goes. A number of other users have mentioned it's not what you say, it's how you say it. That's partially true. But if what you're trying to say is an insult, then it's not cool no matter how you word it.
Simply put: if you focus on discussing what people are saying instead of on the character of the people saying it, you're not likely to run into many issues from us.
