Are you looking to become a part of the world’s largest crowd-funded space simulation game in history? Thanks to a promotion offered by Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games, now is your chance to get a taste of the action!
While this offer was initially created for PAX East attendees, those with the right information can get into the Alpha test of Star Citizen until March 15th, 2015. Testing out the F7C “Hornet”, those who get in on the free trial can grab a taste of Cloud Imperium Games’ most signature space ship, and one of my favorites to fly. The package on trial is normally retailing for $125 on the Roberts Space Industries official Star Citizen website, but you can earn the ship traditionally through in-game ventures when Star Citizen releases “fully” in 2016.
Anyone interested in participating in the “Free-Fly Weekend” should head over to the official RSI website using the link below. Just enter “PAXEASTFREEFLY2K15″ as the coupon code and you’ll be on your way.

That reminds me, I must fire the game up for any updates! It's been a while since I loaded the game up.
Well worth a try, by the way, even though I currently spend more time in Elite Dangerous at the moment. SC is very good even in the limited form it is in at the moment. Star Citizen, I'm not two-timing you, honest!
Warning the download is over 20gb.
20 gig flight sim? Bwaaahaahahha
You may have not heard yet, but its more than a flight sim. A lot of the code is there yet, but not ready for public testing.
Its a :
a) Flight sim
b) Cinematic solo campaign
c) FPS shooter
d) Planetary/Social Interaction simulation
e) Macro- and micro-economic simulation (inlcuding mining, trading and manufacturing)
f) Political simulator (starting with ownership of conquerable stations)
Have fun
A trial player will have to download 20gb and gets just a flight sim. The game might become more than just a flight sim in the future, but at the moment rodarin is correct that 20gb download will give you just a flight sim trial.
Technically correct.
It was intended as an attendance benefit for a limited amount of visitors of PAX East, not the public at large. If CIG wanted to publish a general Arena Commander trial version for everyone, they would make the package smaller. Not that there are any plans for that at the moment according to community knowledge.
If anyone has problems with his download rate ... no one forces him to download the files. Or check out the free (!) trial.
Have fun
New promotion!
