Any initial impressions from those that did get in and test it today?

None that I'm aware of, considering Towelliee and several others were streaming quite a bit today

Yup, its been streaming all day.  The combat reminds me of Neverwinter.

Honestly, my initial impression has been that TSW is a generally better version of this. TSW's combat gets a lot for being clunky, but the targeting in Skyforge is some of the worst out there, and the lack of ability to perform non-targeted attacks with many skills really holds the game back. Not to mention the excessive self-rooting on quite a few skills - especially if you want to perform your full auto-attack combo.

(That and, as a personal opinion, the setting is a complete mess. Its incoherent mix of science fiction with mythological medieval fantasy comes across as poorly sewn together from its constituent body parts - and the result is a Frakenstein's monster with Down's Syndrome. I had to laugh at the soldiers in the beginning cutscene, who all wield blades over more advanced firearms for no readily explained reason, and this is particularly ludicrous when you consider that they aren't even powerful immortals like the player characters and major npc's are).
