Haha yes. I was an Erudite at the start. GOD the night was dark. The only thing i saw was the eyes of those pesky skeletons camping my corpse. Fun times. You had the freedom to DIE. Something modern games don't offer anymore.
MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.
Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?
My first character on launch day... Barbarian Warrior... wandered into Blackburrow to kill "a Gnoll Pups". See one in the hollowed out tree stump... run in to kill it... fall into a hidden pit.... reroll
Completing the burning rapier quest or the leatherfoot raider skulcap with my rogue
My Erudite necromancer that have to run from Erudin to the dark elf city with invisibility spell because Queynos and Erudin would kill me on Sight ! the caster that have the binding spell. When your caster get upgrade on spells.

Well, for starters, build a time machine because while the game exists, those memories are of a time long ago.
The game of this video still pretty much exists and people still love it. They still choose to play it over any other MMORPG on offer. Good times and new memories are being made every day
This was the first MMO I ever played so I had so much to learn. I drowned ,lost my corpse was so completely lost inside the tunnels in Surefell Glade . Did not know how to use the lantern in my inventory so was unable to see in that tunnel it was pitch black. tried a human necromancer in Freeport and was unable to find some hole in the wall so kept dying then fell in some well soon after and drowned. Had no idea how to control my character at all. I finally learned to sue the chat that in itself was such a huge improvement because people were so kind. The game was so great then it really felt a real world.

Best CGI I have ever seen. EVER.
My first day in EQ1 I accidentally attacked a guard in Halas trying to figure out how to move, and was butchered instantly.
