its cheaper to get a months worth of wildstar for $15 than it is to go to a movie once a month. better entertainment too.
Wildstar is a great game but it has SERIOUS issues. Lemme go through what affects most people fast:
- shit performance. If you're blessed with an AMD CPU you will play in populated areas at 10-30 fps.
- no new players. Everybody is max level by now and stays in their home. New players that would like the game are immediately discouraged by the grind ahead and the needed subscription. I mean, it's like paying them so you can work hard in a game lol.
- nothing pops. The queues while leveling are dead. I mean, fully dead. I got to do ONE dungeon in my way to 50, while being a MONTH in queue almost all the time I was playing lol.
This is why you don't see lots of people, there is population, but most are max level. The game has no appeal to casuals or newcomers.
So it is failing quite hard, regardless of the fact that the veteran hardcore base still enjoys it (with good reason, cause the game itself is GOOD).
An MMO needs a LARGE player base and lots of learning to play noobs from which you can choose people to refresh raids and PvP teams.
Also, they will be bumping up subs to $50/month...'cause ingenuity!
You are acting like this is the only thing they are adding in Drop 5. This is a very minor update compared to the rest of it. And it's not like this is a new daily hub. It will get people back into the open world, which is something that a lot of mmorpg.com posts say they miss about old games. But from the look of it, "back into the open world" means they want to wait for days in one spot for one mob for a tiny chance at something awesome.

I honestly wouldn't play this game even if it went F2P. The combat was a total turn off for me like others, and leveling took far too long compared to other MMORPGs. Quests were extremely lame, and boring to boot. Plus the game just felt soulless, something about the graphics just really turned me off. Just too much going on in places if that makes any sense.
MMORPGs have become wholly about "what do I get at the end?" Instead of "how awesome will this be to do?" I think a focus on the awesome sauce part of the content has lagged so far behind other genres over the years that the grind has become painfully apparent, leading players to demand more rewards for the tedium.
Developers, in my opinion, should focus on making content dynamic, engaging, and fun in and of itself. There's a reason folks will level through CoD's progression system over and over, a reason folks will sink hundreds of hours into a SRPG like Skyrim: the gameplay is its own reward.
Skyrim doesn't have dailies, there's no mention of a grind. Nor do you here CoD players bitching that it takes too long to level. There's a reason for this, and it seems MMORPG developers are afraid to face it. Their core gameplay content has become so stagnant there are mosquitoes laying eggs in those waters. Lots and lots of mosquitoes. People are noticing, and if they have to weather the pest, they want increasingly shinier rewards for their time swatting the bugs.
I am absolutely dumbfounded when it comes to wildstar. Ive played 2 trial accounts, the second currently has 2 days left. Im on the NA PVP server and in 35+ hours of game play I have come across 1 other person. Queued up for a dungeon level 10, 4+ hours no takers. I dumbfounded at the fact theres no one playing BUT there doing all this great work to the game..I love this game, but theres no one to play with. How about you address the issue that there is no one playing this game, get players in first, then release content..It makes absolutly no sense releaseing all this content for no one to enjoy..It boggles the mind, on how stubborn NC soft are in keeping with a subscription that is clearly not working for them. What will it take for these idiots to wake up one day and admit the fact that they have it soooo wrong.
wildstar is a great game, if you like single player RPG.

From what I understand the NA PVP server is extremely low pop, NA PVE is much better. Free transfers too.
That said, if you want the best pop roll PVE Exiles. I'm Dominion and while there is some activity in the player created LFM chat, the PVE queues are completely useless.

No new blood, MMO dies.
Simplez.
Are you on the PTR? Could you educate us all on what the rewards are?
