I have heard that this game will update by expansions. First: is it true? Then the real questions, is there comming expansion any time soon, or gotta we wait for new expansion for years. (Asking stupid again.)image

ArenaNet have said that they will be releasing expansion roughly every 6 to 9 months. they have said that these expansions will be just as big as the original game, adding new zones, maps, monsters, quests, items, skills.

possibly even new classes, and a higher level cap

but the game is still updated regularly via the patches. coming soon, are two new areas to explore with quests.

read the FAQ at www.guildwars.com for any questions you have

Nightelves n crap lyk that arnt new classes, there new species really, and hopefully nothing like that will come, nothin that has alrdy been done. I personally thing if there gunna put new characters in the game it shud be char, so u can see the otherside of the battle for yourself, rather than just in 3minute fmv sequences in the middle of a mission, I also think they should up dmg, hp, mp, all that, i think having my 15-22dmg fire sword that cost 8k (over paid but its so cool) isnt enough of a dmg boost even compared to the starter sword, higher lvl cap is needed, however, not just lvl cap change but a change in the amount of xp earned, i think it is alot cooler in a game to say, yeah im lvl112, rather than going "yey i got to cap lvl" "whats that?" "lvl20" it just sounds so uncool, I also believe all games shud hav a huge reward or change for people who reach cap lvls, lyk wen sum1 reaches lvl50 in CoH 2 new classes become available 1 which i have seen which looks so much cooler than evrything(weird floating thing). one of the thigns which I realy think bummed me out about the game and 1 of the reasons that i stopped playing is that lvling gets alot slower, i like at low lvls to grow lvls very quickly, then for it to slow down, rather than get up 5 lvls and alrdy it slowing down, and wen you get to a certain lvl and quests just dont help, well not small quests for 100 xp. i wish i had posted this sumwer more remotely linked to guild wars :P and i dont think areanet will be gay enough to put in a monthly fee wen the first expansion comes out, thats just bad business in my opinion, i no if they do that im away to play WoW, would play everquest2 but my computer sux to much :P, or CoH/CoV wen it comes out

this game isn't about grinding so the level cap does not need to be changed. This game is about how good YOU are not what lvl you have or what type of items you have, its about how good you are with your 8 choosen skills thats matter in this game.

Did you even think about this or are you just trying to start a rumor? Why would they charge a monthly fee for expansions when the original game doesnt have one....::::12::

first.. i was not starting a rumor

second... roma victor (still in development) will be free of monthlu fees but the development team already admited that they will require monthly fees for some expansions of the game, so i tought they could probably do the same

Here's what ArenaNet OFFICIALLY says about expansions:

"As you may know, Guild Wars does not have a subscription fee of any kind. Players may choose to support future development of the game and expand their own playing experiences by purchasing new chapters of the Guild Wars story. These chapters will be offered about every six to nine months, and will be competitively priced. Unlike most "expansion packs," the new chapters will be approximately equal in size to the initial chapter of Guild Wars.

After you own Guild Wars, you are not required to purchase the new chapters in order to continue to play. Those who do support the game with the purchase of the chapters will, of course, have the opportunity to continue their personal story. They will be able to experience new professions, skills, items, missions, monsters, and quests. But players who do not purchase the chapters will still be able to play Guild Wars, and will have the opportunity to play with their friends who did purchase the other chapters in some areas of the game."

So let's dispel some rumors.  Yes, they will likely be including new professions and skills.  No, there has never, ever been mention (ever) of implementing a monthly subscription fee.  Nor have they ever mentioned raising the level cap.  In fact, to the best of my knowledge after reading through every official Guild Wars Q&A I could find, it looks very much like the level cap will NOT be raised in the foreseeable future.

i wasnt saying they will, tis just sumthin i wud lyk, higher lvl cap dus not meen grinding, but lyk, up lvl cap to 100, and the xp u wud usually need to get to lvl2, wud b as much as u needed to get to lvl5, for sum reason, not lvling makes the game seem very unprogressive, and also, games that are about lvls, the lvls actually show how good sum1 is, u cant tell how good sum lvl20 person is on guild wars, they may hav played evryday basicly 24/7 to get there in about 2 months, which obviously makes them suck, i thought the skill not lvls things was gunna b awesome but i dont lyk it anymore

I think the cap is too low like 20lvl it cames too soon. Dont tou think same way? It is too easy to get. But WoW´s cap is 60lvl that doesn´t come so soon. image

nah.. in my opinion, the lower level cap is much, much better.  I'm a busy guy, so I enjoy not having to commit my entire life day and night to a game in order to have a strong character.

Plus, in guild wars, leveling up is just not that important.  A skillful lvl 5 player can easily beat a lvl 10 player.  In PvP arena, everyone is pretty much on a equal footing whether ur lvl 20 or 15, so it becomes skill, teamwork, and strats that really decides who wins.

and sdoughty, if you want to see how good a player is, check their ranking, not their level.
