CU is not a game yet. what we have seen is an infrastructure framework on which hopefully sometimes a game will be built. The classes are not more than blueprints, the magic system, crafting, the veils etc. etc. etc. are only very very vague described. This is only little more than a concept of a game.

Well that's a subjective matter, depends on how you would define a "game". I think the alpha video is solid, I like what I'm seeing there. I like the steady but slow progress they are making too. As a backer I'm pleased with the process and progress so far.
Definition of Alpha:A game in alpha is feature complete, that is, game is playable and contains all the major features.
This refers purely to functional gameplay loop. -not cosmetics and assets.
Incorrect. Google it and this time do not skip over the many results that conflict with your definition above.
Alpha is not a feature complete test phase nor ever was. I agree though that calling this stage of CU testing Alpha is somewhat of a stretch. I'd consider it more pre-alpha but Mark put emphasis on this being an old school Alpha that is testing engine and tech more than anything. Most of us on the backer forums also consider it more of a tech Alpha and sort of accept the caveat. Alpha is also a term used when accepting testers outside of internal testing. This Alpha has done that.
Considerable time was put into making a completely new engine. It isn't flashy nor allows a sneak peak into the what the future game will look at but that is not a reflection of the complexity and impact the engine and additional tech assets will have moving forward. Very few players here have been involved this early on in a game that developed it owns engine. I do not believe such critical comments are warranted with so little personal experience.
Honestly the game's progression is rather logical if one follows it closely (and admittedly behind schedule due to issues hiring experienced programmers which at least the money is there for as this was added as stretch goals). The time to be critical is when it approaches a release date and admits it is feature complete. What the tests are called prior to that time is 100% meaningless.
Really excited to see the direction this game goes, the developers are going to give us something different and new (thank you! Finally)
After the massive disappointment archeache was i hope that the cse team can stick to their good progress and keep their focus heading in the same direction.

Waiting anxiously for beta release dates.
Played DAoC and Warhammer Online. Spent 4 years on each.
Imma backer of this project.
It'll be worth the wait, if things continue as they have,
