No trading?

madazzmadazz Member RarePosts: 2,115

There is no item trading in the game. Which is a bit annoying as I like collecting or finishing things towards the end of my time with any mmorpg.

But then I came across some reasons as to why its not such a bad thing and its got me thinking its not as negative a feature as I thought. People point out no gold sellers, no bots, no P2W. The whole no gold sellers thing is awesome. Im sure bots will still exist but at least not in their current farming form.

With that said Im leaning towards this being a very minor inconvenience. It does result in many game play features I like being removed, but at the same time it offers other positives. I think its one of those things that I am going to have to try out in depth first before really knowing whether its for me or not.

Thoughts?

It's not just no trading 1 to 1 that is gone, the game lost a lot of the features that were originally promised. The housing system has turned instanced. Witch the removal of the 1 to 1 trade feature much of the player orientated economy has been lost, taking items from one country to another to net a profit. PVP system made only guild vs guild siege wars viable with the heavy penalties imposed on normal pvp that makes players to not even risk it. The open world bosses were removed, I think they were replaced with bosses that could only be summoned which are much easier to kill than the former. The cash shop included weapons and armor now, so it sounds pretty P2W.

If I'm not mistaking they DO have a auctionhouse in each city. So you can sell stuff. But you cant take overprices for them to prevent goldseller from getting a foot in. I think those trading changes are good to prevent gold spammers.

BDO does have an auction house in each city, but the prices are dictated by the server admins (Daum) you cannot list things for whatever you want.

The prices are restricted to a min and max price, but those min/max prices change based on demand. If there's transactions of people selling items for under mid price, then the price of the item will go down. If there's transactions of people selling items for over mid price, then the price of the item will rise. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but at least the prices aren't static.

Another thing to remember is based on how well you are liked in the city by the npc's, you could be paying up to 40% in taxes on AH fees.

Yes there is no trading what so ever, none. No mail items system either. I personally have mixed feelings about this. It stops gold sellers, but is it worth taking out trading? I don't know, but I don't really have a strong opinion on it.

Apparently one can "trade" through an auction house but just not to a specific person. Additionally, it's said that the prices change but are constrained so one can't put something on the market for an outrageous price.

Looking better made him feel more confident, giving him a psychological edge in battle.
