Neverwinter players have a lot to look forward to with today's release of the Elemental Evil module. The Paladin class enters the game along with DnD darlings, Minsc and Boo, who will shepherd players through the new content. The update also brings along a level cap increase to 70 and brand new quests, feats and new class feature powers and more.
“Our team is thrilled to revisit one of the most iconic stories of Dungeons & Dragons with Neverwinter: Elemental Evil,” says Rob Overmeyer, executive producer of Neverwinter. “Aspiring to deliver our biggest expansion to-date, our team at Cryptic focused on introducing long-requested gameplay features as well as building more Dungeons & Dragons lore into our game. Introducing a new class, the level cap increase and Minsc & Boo into one expansion was quite a task, but an exciting one in order to continue to build a quality Dungeons & Dragons digital experience.”

Not if you're European apparently. Doesn't look like they'll be able to get their servers started today. xD

It's 1645 EST now, and the PC servers are still not back.
There's a lot to study for the mandatory respec. From reports from preview testers, a lot changes, and not all powers and feats operate as they did. Plus, there's a load of new feats. Since I had just made level 60 with my cleric, I need a lot of study to match my gear with the newly defined (and barely understood) abilities for a healing-focused cleric. At least this update provides a free respec.
My luck, it won't stack with the respec token I've stashed away, waiting to correct the mess I made of my character on the first go-round.

They're up now. Looks like they still made it "today" for the EU. For what's left of it at least. xD
And yep, there will be plenty of respeccing to be done.

The mandatory respec was far less comprehensive than I had hoped. It only affected the Paragon Feats. I need to move points around on the Powers tab. Lots of experimentation, some failed for my play style.
I took a quick peek at the changes to the queue. Now, I don't have any dungeons available that qualify for the Daily Dungeon task. More research for me. (It even doesn't list Malaborg's Castle, which I had just unlocked via the Campaign system).

is this an enterily new quest line or just a bunch of new daily qusts for a new campaign?
I quit the game because was tired of watching only new campaigns, i wanted a new quest line with more quests, a good story to follow, What can you tell me about it?
it looks nice that they introduced the paladin but i am still not sure if i am going to come back.
No new area,s a Paladin that is really a Cleric.
Level 60 area,s are now lvl 70+ go there with a lvl 60 toon, and your dead.
Now with your lvl 60 you will have to lvl up, and go through places you have already done.
Devs who done module 5 have been sacked, so I will be looking for anothr game, this is losing the D@D aspect of the game.
When I play Neverwinter, I treat it as an action RPG, with zero expectation as an MMORPG. Then it will be fun.
Only played my dragonborn paladin to level 4, looking forward to play when the time is available.
The possibility of the universe collapsing into a singularity is higher than the birth of a perfect MMORPG.
I've run into the level 60 barrier as well, and let me assure anyone in doubt that this is very real. I made 60 only a few days before the release of Mod 6, and didn't have months and months of time to grind out quality gear. So now, I'm probably at the bottom end of gear for any 60+, and it shows. A lot. The formerly level 60 Daily Skirmishes / Daily Dungeons that I was able to do, are now an exercise in dieing (and using a lot of Major Injury Kits). So sources for Astral Diamonds have completely dried up. The community is very intolerant of players these days, and frequently boots people just for dieing too much.
My conclusion. Mod 5 was well-balanced. Tough and fair. Mod 6 simply tossed out the concepts of 'well-balanced' and replaced it with 'ultra-difficult'. Maybe Cryptic thought it would drive business to the cash shop, I don't know. That's a losing business strategy for retaining my business, however.
