For the posters still butt-hurt about the transition to B2P and throwing tantrums about the cash shop and its future inevitable decent into the pits of the most blatant money grabbing intrusive p2w hell, let me ask you this. What mmo-including sub games- has no cash shop at the moment, and are you playing it? I can't think of any major mmo without a cash shop, but I am sure there must be one, please educate me.

That's an interesting question for a game such as this considering they were originally against a cash shop in all their marketing.
When something is sold to you one way and changes, are you throwing a tantrum or did the product change. And if you walk away from it how is that relative to throwing a tantrum. I don't think that's throwing a tantrum, it's holding the company to their original words. Do you accept that from any other company in your life? Can you order pasta at a restaurant and get delivered a plate of vegetables because the chef didn't feel like making pasta today. Do you eat that plate of glazed carrots for 14.95 or do you speak up. It's very simple. Every other company is held accountable for promises and their words, somehow gaming companies just slide under the mat because people are addicted to these games. Have some self respect.
I don't play any MMOs right now. None, zip, zilch, zero. Does that make you feel better that I stand by what I suggest? You thought I was going to be playing one and be a hypocrite right - haha - wrongo. WTF do you think I'm doing posting on this forum instead of gaming. C O M M U N I C A T I NG.
Yes, there is one game left without a cash shop, Ryzom.
You tell me how you are going to get rid of cash shops if you keep playing those games. Go ahead, I'll wait for the answer because there is none.
If you play them you support them whether it's with money or your involvement. If you love cash shops then this is your time and you shouldn't care at all about any tantrums because YOU have the buying power on your side since you are spending in those cash shops. But, I do warn you consumer... if you don't spend... and you tell other people not to spend or sweat items they don't "need"... and you continue to utter that it doesn't affect you - you will be out purchased eventually.
Your purchasing habits will become like mine - outdated and up for the "tantrum" talk like you want to dish out. I remember a time when these free games came around and I said let them play it, I'll play my sub game and mind my own business. See where that got me. Watching you all excusing every cash grab because it's not as the person down the street. All I'm telling you is that the person down the street is your inevitable future along with a declining population when each subset of them exit as their item of interest is put in the cash shop until they cry out - oh no - pay to win now that you hit what I get out of the game as pleasure.
I'll be happy to have that talk with you when this game sells the thing that tickles you enough to get riled up - the thing that affects your playstyle. The thing that irks you so much that you come crying here about how it happened. Then, of course I'll call it a tantrum and try to dissuade you from talking about things that bother you because they don't affect ME. After all, this is a planet all about me isn't it, not you and these games aren't about role playing (even though it's in the name) and those people don't matter who want cosmetics to roleplay at all because they don't affect you or me.
This game will not only go pay to win it will do it in record time with the way it has been behaving and it's getting away with it. I've only got every other cash shop in history to give me a track record - what do you have that comforts you - promises - promises from a company that broke their promises previously LOL
A tantrum BTW is flailing on the ground - this shit here - it's called words and it's called communication. Behind those words are reason, logic, and a sharp appreciation for what has happened previously. Without a game all this time I don't do anything but watch them tick other people off. It's what is supposed to place humans above other animals along with these opposable thumbs.
This discussion is not worth ESO alone. It's not that effective a game at the end of the day. It was weak and changed under no pressure. It did it for consoles because they couldn't force them to sub. It has plenty of problems without its cash shop. I fear I'm picking an easy target at this point.
So I was right, it is not the cash shop in particular that is an issue for you, it just provides you another opportunity to try and attack the game to "get back" at the devs for transitioning to b2p. Just let it go and enjoy the game. It is actually much improved since launch, is probably the best mmo on the market overall, and now is optional to sub to. Let go of your hate bro and enjoy life.
I love how mmo players are always the victim, forced to buy this and forced to by that. Apparently they have no free will or intelligence in which they can make decisions about managing their money and time. How do these people feed themselves or make it through a store without going bankrupt?
I'll buy the mount if I want. I'll buy DLC if I want. If I can't afford it or don't feel like it's in the budget then I won't do it. How hard is that? What a waste of time analyze everything to the nth degree and overly moralize the absurdly trivial.
And have you noticed it's never the mmo player who is writing the post? It's always those other victims out there
