In a near repetition of the Elder Scrolls Online phenomenon several months ago, Australian retailers have pulled boxed copies of WildStar from store shelves. According to Games.On.Net, both EB Games and JB Hi-Fi have removed all copies of the game, fueling rumors that Carbine Studios and NCSoft may be ready to announced a move to a free to play revenue model.
Would this be a good move for WildStar? Would you return to play if the game went buy-to-play or free-to-play? Let us know in the comments.
We'll keep you posted as the story develops.

It depends on how the F2P is handled, will you be constantly harassed with popup ads and forced to buy cash shop items to keep up in the game. Worse, will you have to pay extra just to be able to run or have action bar slots [looking at you SWTOR].
Or will it be just cosmetic items, and not be shoved down your throat constantly?

hmmm looks like the 10 day trial didnt go so well...
it was expected that WS was going to be B2P or F2p , with 4 servers and only 2 with population (pvp servers are empty ) it was matter of time.
now the question is , f2p will put the last nail of the coffin or will revitalize it? , only the cssh shop will tell......
I guess B2P is the way to go for WildStar. At least it will certainly please most people IMO.
I really hope it will work out for this title.
The game has all it takes for a excellent fluff store, adding ofc those coming with Drop 5. Mounts and mount customization items, pets, toys, housing items, farms, wardrobe & costumes, gathering tools, dyes etc are things that would make a great shop. CREDD is also a nice tool to change real money into gold.
Imho if they do it right then WS may became a very populated and successful mmo. Carbine already fixed most of the vanila problems and added too much content for ppl to stay busy for a long time. It just needs more ppl and the transition to a non P2P model will help a lot.

It always starts in Australia it seems.

For me, it's about time and money. I rarely have time to put maybe an hour or so a night (if that) into gaming. Too much life responsibilities are inhibiting my gaming time. Also, funds have been tight for me. So that $15 a month is actually hard to justify for me (for any game). I'd rather it go to something essential or for my kids.
I'd like to see it B2P with a sub option, maybe. I think they need to make some cash back on box sales and not squeeze people through a cash shop so much. Rely on a good game to secure some extra subs.
Honestly, though, it'll probably go F2P only because it's the path of least resistance to get people to actually install it.

This is EXACTLY what happened to ESO before it went B2P - plus these are the exact same retailers who pulled ESO from their shelves.
Looks like B2P/F2P is coming, folks.
maybe for Drop 6 , drop 5 is coming next week?
I think you're totally wrong in that statement and i'm talking out of experience.
Great If it is, I'm hung up pretty well in other games when I have any free time. Wildstar is kept installed and up to date, just one of those games that don't fit in my schedule.
When ESO boxes got pulled, the devs and CMs where adamant that it wasn't because the game was turning F2P...and look where it is now. The other choice is that NCSoft is shutting the game down, which they have done before quite a few times.

With NCsoft around this could mean:
1) F2P with CS, but the conversion need money and resourcers. (WS wasnt a financial Success)
2) B2P. Digital Download only.
3) NCsoft is ready to pull the plug.
