The SPAM on these forums by bots is insane. Clearly the captcha written for this site is not good enough and easily broken. Why not change captcha? The one I use on my blog is pretty much bot proof (12K hits a month and no bot SPAM).

    That data tells nothing, only how popular a site is. Okay, my site is not as much visited (any more), but I've had a Chinese botnet battering it last year. A couple of months I've had over 15K captcha hits to drop SPAM on the site. Of all those hits only 1 came through.

    I'm 100% sure that a botnet is not 'recorded' by the kind of stat sites you've quoted. I've had 300K pageviews a month on the top of that botnet attack and that rank of my site hasn't changed a bit. Got whole China blocked now BTW...

    Spam on MMORPG.com is public enough that it's likely worth their while to have humans answering MMORPG.com captchas.

    CAPTCHA won't help. We actually have a bunch of stuff going on behind the scenes that helps with spammers, but it's clearly not enough. I don't know that investing in changing things on the current forums is worth it considering we are pretty close to getting ready with the new forums and we'll have better tools to deal with spammers built in there.

    Sorry. I don't have a date. :(  Data migration seems to have gone well, but we still have a number of issues to squash.
