Anyone notice how this game is tanking?

Every step they take to make it more like DF1.0 is causing players to quit and is making the game a ghost town.  Player cities that used to have 10 - 20 players have maybe 5 now and its just getting worse.

If AV would just stop listening to the few DF1.0 crybabies and made DFUW a good game instead of repeating a game that died.

How are they making it more like DF1?

I liked DF1 and played it for two years. I only played DFUW for one month. I was pretty bummed when they wiped my DF1 character.

They moved away from their role system to the flawed DF1.0 mindset of  "one spec to rule them all".  They are trying to fix the movement mods they made when they did their overhaul of the DF1.0 engine for DFUW and are failing at doing it.  Funny thing is months ago a player figured out what was causing the FPS movement delay and AV just refuses to remove it.  They made boosters obsolete and now they removed stat requirements from weapons.

All of this fiddling on a game that isn't even finished yet.  I like DFUW more than DF1.0 but trying to mix the two is killing the game.

True, it's so sad that they just wasted so much time on listening to DF 1 vets which in the end resulted in nearly a year of rebalancing skills (along very few other changes) because AV has so much problems with the class free combat system. And now they decided to add "new content" in the form of making the already existing "content" aka farming for basic pvp gear extremely time intensive and tedious while at the same time forcing the player to spend a lot of time with travelling through an mostly empty world by removing all acceptable means of transportation.

Just imagine they would have give the big bosses some worthy loot and we could have epic clan battles over them. Sea Battles are Krakken, Land battles at the Dragon, etc. Or any other type of competive content that's not involving hitting brain dead bugged mobs for hours until you nearly die of boredom then spending a lot of time to run home through that empty world.

It's so damn sad how AV ruined Darkfall for so many players already and to make it worse, they annouced they will keep doing so  :'(

I enjoyed it for a while.  It never seemed to have a large population, but it was adequate.  It really couldn't afford to much of a dip in numbers for it to get a bit sparse.

By changing it so dramatically from DF1 they lost a ton of players. The move to make it "more like" DF1 is actually a good one, the problem is that it keeps them from doing what needs to be done.

The reason it's tanking is NOT because they're making it more like DF1. It's because they're doing the same thing wrong with it as they did with DF1. They're addressing the wrong issues over and over and over. This game, as with DF1, needs more content. There needs to be more things to do in order to keep a steady player base. They weren't wrong by fixing movement, or removing classes, they just should have done it after making more/better content.

The dramatic part in all this is that they copy pasted like 80% of old Darkfall and somehow removed or changed the few parts that a lot of us were playing Darkfall for. They shat all over old players by deleting years of grind and acomplishements, for what? Nothing good, I said back than. Forcing people to buy the "same" game with improved graphics and some core changes that completely removed the "feeling" of the old Darkfall... I guess that was their intention however I don't understand why someone would want to remove the best parts of a game and let the old failures continue unimproved.
