SWTOR options...injured left hand!

I'd post this on the official forums, but, well, I can't because I don't sub yet.  And I'd like to get a little info before I do sub.  Basically, my left hand is injured right now, limiting the amount of movement I can do in combat and the number of buttons I can mash.  I do have a Naga, but I'm too old and uncoordinated to use it very well.

Is there a light-saber wielding class that I can play that is pretty stationary in combat and doesn't require a complicated rotation?

Thanks for any help!

Just click the buttons with the mouse. You don't need to use your left hand for anything, even movement. To move, just push the right and left mouse buttons at the same time.

additionally he can get a razer naga and just access the buttons with his right hand.

I mentioned that I have one, but I don't use it that effectively.  Tiny buttons, always pushing the wrong one!

Ah sorry about that I missed that bit. How about a razer hex?

You'll miss a few buttons but they are larger.

    Additionally you can practice.

There are some amazing violinists out there that have large fingers and yet they can get all the notes. Heck, one of my guitar teachers had huge sausage fingers and he could play a vihuela expertly.

Granted I have slender fingers but when I first started using my naga I could barely use it. Now I can use all the buttons easily.

It just takes a small bit of patience and do a bit here and there. Keep your thumb on 5 and use that as base. then just practice going to 2 go back to 5 and then 8.

after you get comfortable expand the numbers you can do.

You don't really need a new mouse when you can just move a plain mouse around the screen and press what you need that way. I do it when I'm feeling lazy so there's no stopping you. It won't be quite as effective but SWTOR isn't a twitch game anyway.

I find all the responses quite amusing, if not entirely useless to the OP.

I don't play SWTOR, so I don't have much input.  However, I can try to steer all the sheep back to the herd.

Is there a class in the game that can be played somewhat effectively without a lot of movement?

I doubt 'practice' was the answer the OP was looking for.  Try again.

Sorcerers are pretty stationary. Just reign down Force Lightning on everything that moves and you'll be fine. (and throw a force shield around yourself when they come over to hit you in the face) image

As far as normal play's concerned at least. If you intend to do Operations or Hard Mode flashpoints there's no way of getting around having to move. (Unless you want your group yelling at you)

So as long as you stay away from challenging group content you'll be golden. Of course the other Force using classes work almost just as well, since the only time you'll have to move would be to chase an enemy or two that's on your companion, and most classes have gap closing abilities. So you can generally get to them (or yank them to you) with the press of a button.

I liked Shadow and Assassin, hit the combat stealth skill, get out of there, regroup and try it again.  Give you control of the fight tempo in most situations.   They had a lot of spammable skills.

You could try voice command programs, they help a friend of mine a lot as he has joint problems.

But he uses it in singleplayer campaigns/games.

Some multiplay games might consider it a illegal 3rd party program.

I like the sage for that a lot. It's a fun class. By the way check and make sure you got your referral rewards. I subbed for 90 days last night.

I just checked, and I got them! Thanks, Torval! image
