i played the destiny beta on ps3 and did not bother buying it.
star wars battlefront will be good, bungie made a very average game 7/10.
Ouch, that's a couple real credibility hits. First, reviewing a game that's already like a half year old, and one that you admittedly haven't played since launch and then giving it an average rating with no actual reasoning behind it. Thanks for making Joe-user (pun intended) reviewers everywhere look good.
Secondly, you're now making the assumption that Star Wars Battlefront is going to be good because???? Because the Frostbite engine is bug free? The BF4 release was so smooth? Or is it that we know so little? Oh!! And it's a time-critical release, so it can't be delayed!! What could possibly go wrong? Not saying I won't be playing it, and I'm not saying it won't be awesome, but of the features we know about, there is already a step back from the original series in some ways, so don't assume they automatically captured the essence of the original series.
So tell me how many hours of story content, new enemy character models, new gun models, and new tiny zones have they added to the game since launch?
I get that you think one has to play a game anew when the core game has changed not one iota since its open beta stage to have an valid opinion.
just watch someone play the game for 5 minutes on twitch, and one can see all the new stuff added since launch. . .
. . .Destiny is still a shallow, grindy, snorefest. I give it a 3/10.
So now we're saying that the game with the most character models is the best? Honestly, I don't think that the number of models matters in the least. In any sort of MMO, you're going to be killing those mobs 1000 times over anyway, so unless you've got 100,000 models, it's going to get old and grindy. As far as Destiny is concerned, it easily has some of the most fluid gameplay of any FPS released in the last 5 years.
As far as story content goes, you're in the 10-15 hour range if you rush through. If you take your time and smell the roses, you're probably talking about 20-25 hours. Keep in mind, that's not doing any strikes or raids which is the REAL grindy content, but if you like MMOs then you should be used to that by now. Otherwise, Call of Duty is calling you. For Add-on content, we're probably talking about an additional 3-10 hours of story content, plus strikes and raids. Then there's PvP which can easily eat hours of your life. House of Wolves will be heavier on the content side, from my understanding, so if it gives me 5 hours of story content, then we're up in the 25-hour range, plus all the extras that come along with that, new modes, etc. I paid $99 for the game+season pass. With one more expansion in the pipe for my season pass, I think that 25-30 hours of story content is more than enough value for me.
If Destiny is a snorefest for you, feel free to toss out a game that is engaging because giving it a 3/10 simply shows that you don't like FPS games. Period. As far as grind goes, if you're not a fan of grinding then you're obviously not an MMORPG fan. Grinding is, basically, the name of the game. I've fallen asleep playing plenty of games, and I can tell you that Destiny is not one of those games. Granted, there are improvements I'd like to see for the Raids, Strikes, and general MMO features, but even as a single player there's value.

Don't even try Craz...
Destiny apparently is quite polarizing on internet forums. Kind of like WoW, you either love it or hate it - or you only play it because you are addicted and/or your friends play it.
You go to IGN, Gamespot, obviously MMORPG.com - people shit all over Destiny.
Yet, it has sold millions upon millions of copies across 4 platforms, and the average player STILL spends an average of 3 hours per day playing.
I could write an essay on the brilliance of the lore and the subtle nuances in the story, locales, characters etc. but most thick-skulled primates will say "what story? what characters? It's all out of the game blah blah blah."
They just don't get it.
9+ years from now, when the 10 year saga of Destiny finally comes to an end - when we're probably 5+ games deep and dozens of DLC/expansions later, people will look at what Bungie has done, and all but the mostly stubbornly ignorant will be in awe of the majesty and scope/depth of it all...
Destiny is a saga. An adventure. Yeah, it has its flaws like all games do- but the most exciting and amazing thing? We're still in Chapter 1.
Don't believe me?
Well, I can't convince you - but will say that Bungie has already pulled it off once. If anyone can do it again, well, it will be them.
