Why ANYONE would want to play this game is FAR beyond me. The ABSOLUTE WORST game I have played. But I guess to each their own.

It's called play style and the like of a game how it looks and feels, people end up staying to a game even if other people find it wrong to them, this why all of us not playing WoW or FF14 even if there top 2 sub mmo there many out there don't like ther style so people move in to games feel better for them to play. Why it's good thing have option, hope wildstar pulls out there a room for a wildstar type game in the market, the people running it, that not in to ego trip then fixing the game to make it much easyer to bring in the mass amount people that will come in.

How can you say that? we still have EQnext :p

Played: UO, LotR, WoW, SWG, DDO, AoC, EVE, Warhammer, TF2, EQ2, SWTOR, TSW, CSS, KF, L4D, AoW, WoT

Playing: The Secret World until Citadel of Sorcery goes into Alpha testing.

Tired of: Linear quest games, dailies, and dumbed down games

    Anticipating:Citadel of Sorcery

I think it could be a very successful f2p model if done correctly which includes listening to player feedback and communicating with the community. They have a chance to turn this around.

We are talking about it like we didnt know it was going to happen.  I didnt know when but knew at some point it was going to go free to play.

My question is did they fix the animation/framerate?  It was horribly choppy when I played in beta and soured my experience.

I will definitely try it again when it goes F2P as long as the above is managed properly.

And making it F2P will do ... what? Will remove bugs, lag, ...? Will add another toolbar for active skills? Because this are problems that made me go away (again) few days after have subbed again this month.

That's the problem many had with Wildstar.  Judging the game about some decisions that have been for ages in other MMO.  What they only do, is making it a standard mechanic.   But again, many encounters in many MMO around use them too.  So technically have been a standard mechanic in the industry.

Now... Can you do that in all the others?.... Nah!

The difference is that other games have better diversity when it comes to abilities.

Most MMOs have 1: cleave-like AOEs, 2: mouse targeted AOEs, and 3: tab targeted abilities.

Wildstar effectively removed the third type of abilities and called it innovation where it made the classes feel less diverse. Combat fells like : cone cleave, square cleave, rectangle cleave, circle cleave.

On top of that single target abilities help a lot in combats with 20+ players around. Its easier  to see what each friend/enemy is exactly doing and keep track of the situation.

In the end all that is irrelevant - the era of  shallow and simplistic gameplay MMOs and single player in a crowd (mainly found in modern themeparks) is finally gone.

The game had a lot of features, but it just got boring to play in a short amount of time, at least for me, just was to shallow and no real depth to the content, plus I was chased by to many celery stalks LOL,, I hope f2p gives it a good chance for the fans, I just hope they do not over monetize the game, that also can take away some of the fun factor.

Gotta love seeing this. Wow was a Everquest clone which came from  Dungeon and Dragons Pen and Paper that we played in the 70s.  Awesome how folks cant remember back to March 1999 when EQ came out. Only difference is when WOW came out, computers and vid cards advanced and the Visuals got better, Most MMOs are just a reiteration of old D and D , Slapsot and other Pen and Paper games. Difference is the computer rolls the dice for for you and MMOs now have writers instead of Dungeon Masters.  Oh, yeah, Im old and have been playing MMOs since ealy in their hstory , with old MUD games. Best ever games in my opinion were EQ, Dark Age of Camelot and  Star Wars Galaxies.  Now we have Console single player games dressed up like MMOS.

Awesome how folks can't seem to understand a comparative, common phrase and seem to think it needs an entire history lesson on how RPGs came to existence.

WoW clone = theme-park level up, get gear, do raids, get more gear, do more raids, etc.

It's not a reference to the entire RPG genre.

Innovation is not an ability, it's something new or making something more effective!

MMORPGs aren't easy, You're just too PRO!
