Would someone please enlighten me? I would love to know the name of an MMO that doesn't require grinding to make levels, repetitious grinding to level different classes or in Firefall's excellent variation to classes, battleframes.
It does need polish, it does need the bugs and glitches worked out in the current game, it does need more content, it does need better PVP for those of you who like PVP ( this would NOT include me) and, IMO, it does need to emphasize more on crafting but so do all other MMOs except of course the "kiddie" MMOs. I feel that if you take the time to level your crafting you should be able to craft gear at least as good as gear you get from questing, raiding, etc. otherwise there is no use in crafting other than a personal fondness for crafting. This is the standard for most if not all MMOs out today, at least all the ones I have played and I've been playing MMOs since Ultima Online was in beta! At least Firefall is not an "if you don't PVP or Raid you might as well not play" type game like most if not all the others, once again except for the "kiddie" MMOs, i.e. Pirate101, Wizard101.
This is an excellent F2P MMO made by a company that I wish had the money and people resources to put into it that a Activision/Blizzard, Warner/Turbine or SOE had to put into it!!
Keep up the great work5!!
Once again just my two cents worth.
Life's a B***H and then you die, so F**K the world and let's get high!!
The number of redisign changes undergone over the years is probably the highest of any MMO game.
Crazy.
That's why I quit the game. Was playing from the start of closed beta and over the time I felt that the Firefall Team had no clue what the game was suppose to be like. Even during open beta that did a huge change to the game and after that I just decided that this game wasn't for me any longer. Can't support a game that doesn't have a view of what you're game is suppose 2 be like.
Redesigning the PvE aspect every year to make things seem anew makes me reluctant to play. Sort of like "all this was in vain"
Still think it's a great game... and one of the few Sci Fi MMOFPS
If you go in with no expectations its an absolutely great game but once you get the hang of it, it grows stale (especially without PvP). I was basically making builds for PvP and then they scrap that, aw man.
They looking at release for China so I don't know what the future holds. The fact core gameplay is epic is because the original dev team all worked on WoW. They're long gone now though
I played FF in the betas and then again at release, and really preferred the customization and crafting focus in the betas. There was less to do and that was a large problem, but with crafting being a full time focus it actually seemed more entertaining. I will check it out again in awhile after they revamp it again for the umpteenth time.
I hope this guy was one of the original GW2 designers and not one of the people that drove it into the ground with wasted development on terrible "living world" stuff. Not one of the people that ignored rampant WvW cheating for years and supported it during tournaments then wants a pat on the back for deleting one cheater. Basically not a person that has anything to do with how far it has fallen since beta.
Say what you want, but even after all the change of design directions, inner squabbles and other problems Red 5 has gone through, the game is still going strong.
I still log in every few days for some mindless 3D combat, and realistically, the grind is alot better then a few other MMO's I'm currently playing. ((Star Trek Online being a perfect example.))
