Hello!
I'm currently looking for a game with worthwhile endgame to get invested into. The endless gear treadmill gets boring quite quickly. What I'm mainly looking for is a game with a vibrant and alive gameworld. The combat system and other things doesn't matter as much if I know what I arrive to is worthwhile and good for many hours to come. I tried EVE for this very reason but was turned off by the heavy focus on PVP.
Exploration and worthwhile content is what keeps me going. Trying to find a MMORPG with these standards is like finding a needle in a haystack. Sometimes I wished that the ratings on this site would update after time. An 8.0 in 2011 doesn't exactly mean that the game is worth half of that score in the end of its lifecycle for an example. Roleplaying has always been a lot of fun in MMORPGs who has a gameworld that feels worthwhile to get invested to. This requires it to have a good and helpful community to work properly. I've often found that games with an alive RP community last a hell of a lot longer than a game without that addition. Heck I played a GTA San Andreas Mod for five years on and off because of the kick I got roleplaying. There are just so many possibilities.
All I can hope for is that somewhere out there is a MMORPG that I can find enjoyable once again. It doesn't have to be a full sandbox game. But there should be opportunities to get away from questing and just enjoy the gameworld. A world where it actually feels like you're a part of something more than a few pixels. Something one can relate to and find themselves invested into.
Any suggestions you can come up with are very appreciated.
