They know why they have empty servers. They say so in their "evolution" FAQ. In essence, because its an OWPvP game. The PvE folk leave once they get to the OWPvP portion of the game leaving the rest of the world barren. The OWPvP portion of the game is always a game of attrition. The top continue to feed off the bottom until there is no more bottom left to feed off of leaving ghost towns in their wake. This is nothing new. Its a familiar and predictable evolution in OWPvP MMORPGs but developers continue with this madness in their attempt to pull the MOBA/FPS PvP crowd and maximize profits. Its not working but greed hasn't stopped them from continue trying.

Being a F2P with cash shop, this brings up an interesting question:
In the old days, we'd work months on a spec, get it just so, and then the devs change stuff and we lose our effort. "I spent months working on X, and now they nerfed it into oblivion!" says the mad user. But a free-respec usually makes most people ok.
In this case though, people have spent months and CASH, to get their stuff, and now they are being told that all the time they spent, and all the MONEY they spent, is wasted. They can get in the land rush and hope to get new land, but there is no "land respec" where they can get equivalent land on the new server.

That's what they say now. A week ago they said they weren't doing traditional merges and that people wouldn't lose their land, and they've already backtracked on that. I'm on Aranzeb and we're supposedly not being considered for a merge, but I'll believe it when I see it.

This particular F2P died for me in a month. The model is very cash consuming and the game-play after a point of time is too much grind. However it had features and those features got exploited so much that the game became an exploiter's paradise. If they would have handled the game well and the exploits were removed and the players given some scope to play on a regular basis with all the game modes, this game could have had a good player base.

Well... That FAQ was much akin to listening to a PR flack/politician talk about something bound to annoy/enrage people, while attempting to put a positive spin on it. Lots of vagueness, and hand waving, and very little hard details. Sadly, thats pretty much to be expected from Trion these days.
It really sucks for people who own lands. Aside from that, i dont see any other problem with this. Still, the only reason im not playing the game is the restriction as a non subscriber. Not subbing, and if paying cash shop will still keep me restricted then not paying cash shop either.

What do you mean by that? I've always looked forward to your posts because they are well thought out and logical. These posts seem like the "I love to eat carebear qq" types.
I quit TRINO games months and months ago after spending thousands of dollars in AA when a glitch on their end with my Patron status (which just ran out in May of this year due to being pre-paid) rendered me unable to pay my taxes. They fixed the issue 2 hours after all of my land was lost and grabbed by other players. They offered me ZERO compensation and in fact were quite snarky about the whole thing.
TRINO has recently tried to lure my wallet back with amazing items and perks, but I will never spend a single penny on any game they touch.
It has been disturbing to read this post and go back to the AA forums and see how the new Director of Community Relations is responding to the player base. TRINO has gotten worse than I ever expected. I hope that at some point enough people get fed up with the lies and deceptions and stop paying and the company goes under.
