tldr: Really as close to TERA as possible but rated T. I’m thinking Eden Eternal or Dragon Nest (don’t know much about either) or whatever is recommended.

 

Besides that it should be in english, here is my criteria. First 5 are needs/really big wants, rest are preferences:

>>rated T at the most (if you don’t know or it’s unrated, little to no blood and no extreme nudity)

>>fantasy game with races like human to play as (not an animal)

>>decently relaxing yet a not-just-spamming-same-key combat mode(s)

>>popular enough to not be dead by next year

>>pretty 3d graphics, scenery, characters (i don’t mind anime styles, but if theres something else I’d probably like it more)

>large character customization

>includes team and solo modes

>not based on something else (like SWTOR or MARVELS)

>play as one character as a time but make more than one character

>doesn’t take a year to get to a decent level

sorry it’s so long it’s my first mmorpg so i didn’t know what to expect

FFXIV is probably your closest bet.

 

Rift might be an option too.

I take it the rating thing is mostly about TERA's scantily clad females?

How about ESO? It has some pretty stunning graphics, and the characters aren't anime styled but more realistic.

There's plenty of customization, and the game's definitely popular enough that it won't be going anywhere anytime soon (especially with the upcoming console releases).

It's not a perfect match for the T rating though, mostly due to some dialogues. Everyone's dressed. :P

Other than that, there's FFXIV as mentioned above, but both games might already be out due to the fact that they're based on large famous IPs already.
