1. Proof that if you scream loud enough, they will cave on anything. In other words, they have no design direction of their own.
2. Proof that once flying is in Draenor, people will realize just how tiny the expansion really was. We already noticed how small the world is in the other continents. Instead of the feeling of being in Texas, you're in the District of Columbia. What a selling point.
3. Proof that flying alone won't save the bleeding subs. Flying will return, but the subs won't... flying wasn't really the reason people left.
I for one don't really understand the huge hub-bub about flying. I'm navigating Draenor just fine on land. Flying would be nice, but its not a reason for me to quit. I'm honestly just bored of the game in its entirety.
it's about gear+gold addiction. Those players that cry don't care about immersion or world pvp or the future of that game.
They just want flying mounts because they are losing valuable time travelling to gold farming hotspots.
Everything to keep that gold/hour farming ratio as high as possible.
And the game?
"Who cares about that? I want my gold cap damnit!"

Heres an excellent example of whining
"Talk about a kick in the balls, so now the only way to fly is to grind your ass off and literally waste my time doing shit I don't want to do so that I can finally get what I should have been able to pay for from the beginning...Blizzard, you can go f**k yourself. Lets not even talk about the disaster that is PvP and garrisons, lets not fix some of these huge glaring problems first or anything."
Its also a strong case of entitlement.
Its like you are complaining that Blizzard owes you easy flying.
I would say Blizzard owes people who spent real money on flying mounts. Either re-instate flying as it's been in the past or offer refunds to people who bought the mounts.
Ooooooooo, this is actually not untrue. I mean, legally, there is no leg for the consumer to stand on, but it is kinda a dick move to sell flying mounts if flight isn't available in the current expansion. "You can still ride them on the ground though!!!" Meh, still a dick move.

Why? WOD never had flying enabled.
You can still fly everywhere else in the game.
And because you paid RL money on flying mounts for older content: too bad.
You feel self entitled to flying because you paid xxxxxxx amounts of currency 'back then'.
What you paid in the past does not matter, that is irrelevant now, it is in the past.
Like that car I bought for 60k 4 years ago...it is not worth that anymore now nor can I get that value back.
Done, finito.

Actually, bro, WoW was widely considered to be at its best when Blizzard made you grind for all of those novelties. In vanilla, you weren't gifted an epic mount at level 60; you had to earn it. The curve from 55 to 60 was a challenge in and of itself, but if you were around when epic mounts were top of the food chain then you'd remember the time it took you to actually get one. Then of course there was the grind to High Warlord, or the grind to clear AQ40/Naxx, etc, etc. Every major achievement in WoW's glory days was at the end of some form of horrid grind, but once you'd achieved it you felt a sense of pride and accomplishment that has long been missing form the modern game.
This meta-achievement is in the spirit of the classic game. Instead of giving you a pretty cool feature for free, why shouldn't you have to earn it? Why does your money entitle you to gut out the very spirit of a game? You bought into that experience. You didn't buy the ability to avoid it. You will do the meta-achievement, and once you've completed it you will feel a sense of pride and accomplishment that will further anchor you to your character and the game world.
If there was really enough of a subscription exodus to warrant Blizzard caving in, creating this patch, and all because folks had to ride mounts on the ground instead of flying around in the air...

Reporter: So Zephyrjinx what is it specifically about this new decision on Blizzards part to bring back flying that has you baffled?

And that's the end of that story.
