Oh lookie.... expansion drama....

As a long time player of the GW franchise, there is a certain level of quality and level of expectations that I would like to be met......

I played GW1 and loved everything about it..... and when an expansion came out..... it wasn't  just a new zone..... A SINGLE NEW ZONE! with 3 parts to it according to ANET..... with one new job and one new pvp mode.....

You got a whole new world...... with all new story line connecting to the previous.... several new jobs.... and so much more along with the free updates.... now that was worth $50....

But this does not even sound like a real expansion.... it just feels like a living story update we are paying for upfront and getting released at once instead of incrementally...... which that isn't even true because we are already half way thru the HOT LS already.... $50 dollars for half of a living story sequence? That still remains to be seen but I can see it is not as much of material to sift through as the GW1 expansions......

And the $50? I probably would not even complain if I actually enjoyed the LS that they have been putting out.... I mean its not all bad.... because if it was I would not even play it.... but if story and quality and quantity of GW1 was a 9/10.... GW2 would be a 7/10.... and going down.... I still play but it cant keep me engaged for long and is not as enjoyable. It took me like 30 mins to get thru LS2 and I wasn't even trying..... I was like what now..... I kept waiting for it to get better but it ended and never did.... still a bit better then other stuff out right now... but that is the only thing in my opinion keeping GW2 afloat right now.... its not good just nothing better in the MMO market currently....

But honestly I am not surprised they are charging so much for so little..... those that are have not been paying attention to the direction of their decision making processes since release..... they have been constantly nerfing and taking away from their player base....in all kinds of ways.... %80 of loot drops are non tradeable/sellable and can only be destroyed if you dont need it..... it was not like this at the start.... and then they made it so you can only purchase gems in game at 400/800 increments.... maybe if the gem store items we actually likeable... people would buy them with real cash (more often).... oh i guess thats just crazy talk... my lists of greedy changes are too big to mention here so I will stop.... and when they do add features many times it's just MEH... game didnt really need that.... 

However when I have mentioned changes on their forums... the people shout "Its not about the loot and the gold it is about playing for FUN!"      Well if I was having fun.... then I would not be here complaining.... and when its not that fun all there is too do is gain shiny..... So in summary I guess the main complaint is that..... GW1 the creators didn't treat customers like they are stupid.... and with disrespect..... they made that game like it was the only one they were ever going to do and they had something to prove too the world.... Maybe GW2 is suffering from movie sequel syndrome..... not that the game really ties into GW1 in anyway that I can feel....... 

I know this is a big long rant..... and they are not doing EVERYTHING wrong.... but they are doing alot.... Like I said.... I would not play this game at all if it was horrible..... it just not good enough to keep me playing often..... and not good enough to pay $50 on pre purchase or even release day...... I think I will wait till some reviews come out after it's release and then make a decision..... but back in the day I trusted this company enough that would have blindly bought anything with ANETs name attached..... but not any more.....
