But what is even worse are the teens and young adults that get into trouble with the law and then use the "Victim of circumstance" to get away from their own responcibilities. Sure, go ahead and blame all your bad actions on your parents, but some day you will have to stop pointing fingers at others and evenually learn to have enough guts to face your own problems.

I have a friend that is an obsessive gamer. He's also the father of a one year old little boy. When playing games, he get's almost completely absorbed. If he hears his son waking up,(we play late nights when his son usually sleeps) he immediately leaves his comp and goes to check on him. He's an obessive, addicted gamer but he's also a great parent. I'm not saying parenting is easy and I think people have the right to play games, but to leave a helpless child alone for any period of time(as in alone at home with absolutely noone around) is neglect. It's blatant and obvious lack of consideration for human life, their own child at that. As the Police stated, it could've been avoided if they left their child with Yu's mother in law. How hard is it to walk upstairs and ask a favor, hell, if she wouldn't babysit then they should find somthing else to do so they can watch their kid.
Ok maybe it was wrong to leave the child alone at home .
But for those that know .suffocation in infants(as i assume this is not SIDS since they gave an cause of death) is silent with the baby not screaming or anything.
So basically they could have been in next room and it still could have happened.
And as they are first time parents they probably did not know how to place the baby right in a cot.
So this compared to the chap who played EQ1 and locked his little girl in a cupboard and she suffocated ,is not as bad.

A city located 28km from the nations capital, Seoul,
Sooo...... all this mess happened in Korea. (S. Korea to be more specific.) Same place where the guy got killed for playing Counter-Strike, where another guy got killed in real life for playing Lineage, and other wonderful stuff. Kind of adds a new meaning to "PC BANG".
In the USA parents regularly get locked up if their newborns die, even from SIDs, or suffocation. IMHO it was unlikely the death of their newborn could have been prevented. BUT if they had been home, or the Mother-In-Law was babysitting, the newborn would have went from having a 0% chance of being alive, to at least a 50% chance of being alive.
The parents getting arrested DOES SO SEND A POSITIVE MESSAGE. Other parents, and future parents, will know that caring for a NEWBORN is serious buisness! And you will be arrested if you treat your newborn like a cabbage patch kid, or a barbi doll.... thinking you can thoughtlessly put it aside while you go have fun. To quote a famous (infamous? ) rapper Eminem in a song from one of his past albumes, "How the heck did ya get pregnant? What? Did you slip and trip and fall on his (bleep)". In other words, no one gets pregnant "by accident". People need to take a written and field test to drive. Same thing should be given to everyone age 14 to 25 every single year before they have a newborn or if they do not have any kids. It will drive home the point of how serious having a newborn really is - especially for first time parents.
Last thing... in the USA back when that woman killed her kids by driving her car into a lake (or was it a river?) then said some mysterious, big, black, giant, hugemongous, criminal, car-jacked her and drove her car into the lake.... a guy I know made this intresting comment.:
He said you have all these young women so used to partying, going out ALL the time, having fun ALL the time. Then when they have a kid, they find out they can't do that anymore. They get agrey, mad, fustrated. Concious or sub-concious levels. And they take it out on the kid or kids, because they want their old life back. It's worse when the husband dumps all reponsibilities of watching the kid on the wife.... the husband has an easier time getting away with keeping his life the same when he was single.
In this case it was both the man and woman too used to doing whatever they liked, having fun, living for their own whims and desires. I am very glad a poster (on page 2 of this thread?) pointed out a key part of this article! When the parents said they do this all the time usually!! No newborn baby should ever, ever, be left all alone. It really makes me sick because the newborn is an innocent victim. I really cannot believe they were too lazy to walk up a few stairs to see if the Mother-In-Law could watch the kid, or to buy their on laptop, PC... but they could walk the hundreds of feet to their local PC Bang.
well on the bright side, in WoW that 5 hours can get you halfway to max lvl
no really, these people need to fry. you cant even leave a baby at home alone for 5 mintues to go buy milk unless you are a total idiot. you can lose your baby to social services if someone catch you do even that.
anyway there are thousands of people who want babys and cant have them if you cant swing it becasue you are selfish asshat who wants to go party , just give the kid up for his own good.
