Blocking Tactics

You know i think that if HJ used a system were you could not walk threw enemies that could add a element of tactics and force you to face your opponent and the opponent would have to face you.  If you block a door as a fighter will keep the monster from coming in unless it can nock you over or it using a leap skill or nock back skill.  If you are part of a group and make a formation to protect the spell caster then the creature or character would have to get around,  jump over, or cut threw the group to get to him.  I know it bugs me that you can just run threw a character in the game without using a skill.  I play WOW right now and i hate it when a healer casts a spell and the monsters attack the caster buy running threw the fighters in front to hit the healer or other spell caster.  I like to think that I make a impact on the world and if i don't want to move you have to get around me in some other fashion.

    I agree 100%. I used to play Final Fantasy Online, and I remember one time I was messing around and I threw a boomerang at a mob that was on the other side of a canyon. There was a bridge but the bridge was broken. Any ways, I draw hate from the mob like I expected to, but I didn't realize he would just fall right into the bottom of the canyon and then jump up to the other side. The bottom was deep enough that there was no way that he should have been able to jump back up, I don't care if it is fantasy land. The mob was several levels above me so needless to say I was dead on site. If the mob had found another way to get to me then I would have been ok with that. Like say he drops down and then finds another way back up. Then again, now that I think about it, falling down that far should cause some type of serious injury if not death.

    My point is the same as yours. I don't like that mobs can go through obstacles in these games. If obstacles can block players then they should do the same to mobs.

    You guys have it excatly right and this should form an integral part of their 'tactical' combat ideas.healers and range weapon people should be protected by the characters engaging the mob/s.Would make group hunting more fun and interesting, maybe if the mob tries to go past you you can get a stronger hit since its no longer paying you so much attention or you hit it  from behind and do more damage.Also to counter balance if they do pounce or knock you back they do more damage because you cant defend as well?!
