I was thinking of one of these two classes I love support you see but will I be able to solo anything or am I severely limiting myself if I play these like earning prestige and soloing when I cannot get groups. Anyone played either of these two classes have any insights to offer me please.
Taking a break from Wither had a very bad headache last I played so am thinking of taking a break and since I have this game I want to play it.
I hope I can group with my two support classes. How is the group gameplay ?

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
2x wrath of gods founders, 1 for me and 1 for my wife... No regrets
I much prefer the lightbinder to the alchemist... The way they handle support targeting in the game is interesting and takes some getting used to, so give it a chance even if you may find it a bit frustrating early on...
Those are not the only support builds... Other classes(i.e. archer) have some really interesting support options.
Play through the intro and then you can try them all out in the training hall and get an idea....
I was under the impression that a lot of skills were not available in the tutorial. I watched one on the Knight and his eagle skill was not available. It seemed like more or less just weapon combos.
Not quite, pretty much all of them unlock at least 1 skill for each skill slot. Unfortunately you can't respec during the tutorials, so you are stuck with their skill selection... But it gives you a good idea of how the class works.
Group gameplay is laughable unless you play with someone from the get-go.
Hell, gameplay in general is laughable imo, but since its free it's worth a shot to see for yourself at least.
I reserved the name Dante Sparda....my character also looks like Dante Sparda and I selected Paladin, no regrets.
Yes there are other things as well as in-game and store credits and other useful items, but name reservation was my biggest thing as I wanted an exact character name of which I now have, plus the game is fun to me so worth the $20 imho.
The headache from Witcher was from using the witcher senses too much. I also cannot play first person games I get sick after 20 minutes. Pity i so want to play games like Deus X and Half life and so on but Skyforge is okay so far since it is third person view.
I try to play Witcher for like 30 minutes tops but sometimes I get carried away and then pay for it.
what do you mean?? A and D are strafe left/right.
Eeek ! Sorry meant turn left and right the strafe is there but am moving my mouse for that now just a question of getting used to it and I sort of bound Shift + WASD to my mouse to make the dodge easier to use. I am terrible at hitting two keys so this will help me a lot to manage to avoid the attacks for tougher mobs.
I know that there is no real open world but the game is not so bad you jump in for may be an hour then yo leave and for that it is a good game and I like how you work to get the skills unlocked and work towards the classes you want to unlock.
My husband wanted to play but since you can only play one character he was a little miffed.
Granted that this is not a traditional MMORPG but to be honest it is not a bad game so far.
In exactly 6 days it will be free. So its about same worth to pay 20$ for early access now as it is worth to light them on fire and watch them burn slowly.
Actually burning 20$ might probably be more fun
You also get some goodies for 20 bucks. Included speeding up your leveling for the first week. Wife and I both have the top tier founders pack. Considering it boosts your account for 60 days I thought it was worth it. Playing a Paladin and my other char will be an archer. So I have set a path straight to archer. Cant wait to be able to switch between the two =-) Gona be fun!!!!

No offense, but I cannot think of ANY game where you should be turning using the keyboard....
You can change the keybinds to just about anything under settings.
OK, lets answer some of the initial questions. You will be able to level normally when playing lightbinder and alchemist. Compared to a DPS class the supports are a bit sturdier and have a little bit less damage but you still progress at a very good pace. Both of the classes have abilities that are specifically designed for solo play(high damage skills with support alternatives, reflective shields, etc) to provide a smoother leveling up experience.
The two classes are also a bit different when it comes to group play. The lightbinder is a defensive shielding class with a few offensive buffs while the alchemist is the other way around - very high offensive buffs and some shields. Both of the classes have some crowd control and ground control abilities as well.
A thing to consider is that there is no "either or" in Skyforge. You can max and play both classes together with other ones and switch to a specific class when appropriate. You get the Lightbinder as a starter class and you unlock the Alchemist class later on so by the time you get to unlock the Alchemist you might have already maxed the Lightbinder.
Thanks elveone .
I wanted to check on stats on Lightbinder I just finished Port Nouri I think the one Neriads. Anyway I have a bunch of rings so I need to know which ones to keep and use and which I can disassemble. I plan to play the lightbinder and may be much later get the alchemist but so far am enjoying the game .I cannot play too long my fingers hurt rofl. Well I am kinda slow and old so I play less.
Also I have a question about upgrading my weapon which I did to 100% then I was given an option to increase that 400% .I was wondering is that for the slot and does it carry over to my next weapon when I change it or only for the current weapon ?
What should I concentrate on and what abilities should I get to enhance my soloing for now. I tried searching for information but there is not much on google search.
I don't remember best stat combinations, I am playing super casually and usually get just the highest stat combination I can find. People say that strength/luck is the best combination but I cannot confirm or deny it.
As for the weapon(and other slot) upgrades - they are applied to all classes and items equipped into the slot so upgrade away
I usually use Spark of Anger and Starstorm for single target damage and Particle of Light and Supernova for AoE damage. The talents - Spark Power, Summit, Deflection, Bright Flares, Solar Breeze and Quasar Stabilization.
Support is incredibly fun in this game. I usually play healers in mmos. I have primarily played the Lightbinder in CBT and RU OBT. You really don't limit yourself at all with the lightbinder. Depending on which skills you have slotted you can do great dps. Not quite as bursty as some classes but still very good. They can also be very durable especially if you time your shields well. They don't really have combos on their basic attacks so that is how they differ from many other classes.
But of course, where they really shine is in groups. You need to swap back and forth between shielding your allies at the right times and deciding who should get your shields the most, usually the tank and buffing the damage of you dps and timing some buff with when they are ready to burst that dps and also doing your own dps on mobs an bosses. There is a lot to do for the supports in a group. It is a lot of fun.
Yet, because there is not real healing you have to get used to not being able to fix your teams mistakes. You job isn't to fix the damage that your team gets because you can't you can just make them stronger at key points in the fight and give your team's dps a boost. It is actually, in a round about way, the job of the dps to provide the healing because the healing orbs drop off the bosses each time they loose a bar of health. It creates a very interesting group dynamic.
Also, it is worth noting that lightbinders do very well in pvp from what I hear. pvp is just not my thing.
As for the alchemist. They are also great. A bit hard to play and get used to at first but if you give them some time to grow on you they become very engaging. And the reports from RU Skyforge are that the ideal 10 man raids will bring both a lightbinder and an alchemist. They complement one another very well.
All die, so die well.
Thanks so much to learn and you all are helping me a lot.
The secondary weapon slot the bonus do you have to click on something for it to work or is it automatic on the pommel.
Since you can't click anything on the hud while you are fighting I have had to bind everything .Hope I do not run out of binds and the quickslot the one where you use H is it just one thing in that place to use or can you cycle some things in that quickslot?
Good to know about the support role sounds real fun VikingGamer.
