Im new to marvel heroes and was loving it but now I read there taking away the difficulty of story m

I play rpgs mostly to level and get new abilities, to build my characters im not big on endgame and marvel was the perfect altitus game for me, now I am not to sure about the endgame stuff but im really disssapointed as story mode was easy enough as it was and now there making it faster, please explain how doing story mode is some how more repetitive then doing end game content for gear?

 

I just dont get it, why even bother making rpgs if your going to take all that way slowly.
