There are several features in this release that are will be activated over the next several days. Today, we turned on the Wrath of Nhur Athemon server-wide story event. And mules.
Next week we will turn on the Holding & Outpost Warfare feature and a blog will be posted that explains that content before it goes live.
Settlements now have unlimited support, and set their Training Level by choosing a setting and then paying a weekly Upkeep in Bulk Resources to enable it.

So far, pretty darn good.
1. People were running convoy operations last night. Mechanically that's pretty cool, plus it required all kinds of settlement to settlement comms. MULES CONVOYS, PEOPLE!
2. The WoNA escalation is a ton of fun. By far the most fun I've had PvE so far in the game, and since the rewards have such big stakes for the settlement, it was very rewarding to get a drop.
3. Smaller thing, but can I just say how cool it was the first time we blew a tower up? Everyone was like "WHOOAAAHH!!" and yelling on TS.
Bottom line is, we played until 2AM and took out several escalations last night/this morning.

Adding the "exploding stuff" tech was one of those "the team had some extra time to fill and picked a feature they thought would be cool" opportunities. First time I saw it I about fell out of my chair.
Really?
no mention of the fact that we can not train any new skills in our settlements for the entire weekend.
Is the test server actually used to test a patch BEFORE it is released?
@Mbando,
You also failed to mention this major flaw in their release process of new patches. Sure there are things in the patch that are welcomed additions, but to not even mention a major flaw is quite honestly, misleading in my opinion.
PFO's sh$t does not smell like ice creame, and it is ok to point that out once in a while. It keeps the developer honest.

Hey Bludd
I didn't notice that, but have since heard about it. But training was turned on yesterday, so not really a big deal.
I guess I'm just not desperately searching for something to be pisse dover, you know? This is another great improvement in the client, we're having a blast, and if there is a tiny hiccup that gets fixed promptly, it just doesn't really bug me, you know?

It s good to hear that they fixed the issue earlier than advertised, but that still begs the question "What is the test server actually being used for"? Maybe Friday afternoons is not the best time to launch new patches, because it runs the risk of ruining the players' weekend playtime and forces GW to either fix it on weekends or tell its consumers, wait for fix until Monday.
This is common sense kind of stuff, not even Game Design 101 stuff.

What was their excuse with every other patch? Honestly Cal, is there any bottom of the well of excuses you will make. They have a test server that is not used to test builds before they are released. There has not been a single patch that didn't break a number of systems, but if they actually used a test server correctly, that would be rarer than every f'ng time!!
Then you wonder why PFO is often compared to a High School computer science project.
Imagine if this were the person behind the counter of a deli and they decided it was more important to get your sandwich fadt than to get it right. They give you the wrong sandwich ten times out of ten. You going to keep on making excuses?

When I wrote "then you wonder why" it was not meant specifically as You, but as you referring to the General Audiance. I shoukd have been clearer.
I believe it is a mistake not to use this forum as a place to constructively criticize Goblin Works for some of their decisions. This forum has lit the fires unde their asses on a few much needed changes, that would not have happened in the echo chamber of the GW forums.
Example: there would still be a box price if it were not for this forum's criticisms.
I liked my analogy it was perfectly reflective of their patch history. Every new patch was brought in with inadequate testing on the test server. I don't know the cause of that, only the effect of it.
