I've been mostly playing Neon Ninja, but I've only unlocked four classes so far. I've got a couple of class unlock coins and just wondering what to spend them on.
I've played as the Neon Ninja, Boomeranger and Tomb Raiser.
You know all about the Neon Ninja.
The boomeranger plays similarly, but you can use a bow or sword. Thematically, you're playing as Link from the Zelda game series. The boomerang is a nice skill since catching it helps reduce cooldowns for other abilities. The bombs are sweet for taking out groups of enemies and does destruct environment. The elite skill is pretty amazing since it can heal the crap out of you and allies or summon chickens to come and kill your enemies (them chickens are bad ass too). Boomeranger has a lot of nice options.
Tomb Raiser is fun since it's a ranged pet class. You attack using Staff and you can summon smaller weaker minions and then combine those smaller minions into a bone golem. The bone golem increases in size and power the more smaller minions you sacrifice. You can also ghost form yourself to take 90% less damage for those times your pets are all dead and on cooldown. Rushing in and dropping a big ole bone golem in a pack is fun, plus you can sit back and attack nearly unmolested while leveling.
Honestly, I don't think there is an "unfun" class in Trove. They all have their merits and there's pretty much a class for all of the different playstyle types.
Yes, Tomb Raiser and Boomeranger are two of my favourites, and as a fun class I like the Pirate, too. The Pirate uses a nice big shotgun and has one ability to create a sort of jack-in-the-box dummy that attracts aggro and the other ability summons a big mortar cannon that fires by itself. By right-clicking, the Pirate gets his pet parrot to man (bird?) a small cannon to attack mobs with. Really fun to play.
Yeah, I'm a terrible altoholic. I've got my ninja up to level 18 and will get him to 20. Then I'm torn between trying the Boomeranger, Tomb Raiser, or Dracolyte. The Pirate is fun, too.
I've had fun with all the classes I've tried, except for maybe Knight. It's okay, and probably fun if you like tanking.
I have all the classes at level 42 - these are my favorite
Boomeranger - an absolute beast - I have 110,000 HP and over 15k damage - I can solo U6 SA with ease
Candy Barbarian - another beast class
Ice Sage - the best magic class end game IMO
Neon Ninja - not as powerful as CB and Boomer but so damn fun
All other classes are fine 1-20 (heck most scale fine to about Uber 3) but many don't hold up in U6 imo
That's what I'm looking for in a first class. The Ninja is getting a bit tougher in the sense that I'm using a lot more flasks than before. In small spaces with a lot of traps and mobs, I want a tankier class. I wind up going toe-to-toe slugfest a lot with the Ninja in those kind of spaces and thus the high flask usage. I'm only at lvl 19 and I guess I'm doing it wrong, too. In open spaces, the Ninja is much more fun for me.
I think I will take my Boomer up next. I like switching between melee and ranged.
Yes, a lot of the fights in the early game are already aoe, so the melee is important for those. It's fun to run around harvesting and taking out single mobs with the bow.
