I've been slowly working my way through the levelling portion (level 43 atm) and enjoying the game quite a bit.
Now that I'm approaching level 50 I have a few questions about end game activities.
I've put about 20 hours into Cyrodil whilst levelling and I just can't get into it. I can't be bothered with the long runs every time I die and didn't have any interest in the siege stuff. Small scale fights were fun when I found them but not something I'd focus on at 50.
As I understand this game is primarily PvP focused so my question is;
Does the PvE side of things provide enough to do for an active player?
In past games I've filled my time with raids, dungeons, world bosses, housing, dailies and doing older content for cosmetic gear / mounts / achievements. Just wondering if there's a good variation of things to do for PvE players!
Thanks

Ahh I thought they got rid of having to do all 3 factions quests (Stupid idea IMO) especially in a PvP game. Doesn't make sense that the factions are at war but they let you come into their lands to quest.
Also the last thing I want to do when I've just quested 1-50 is do it all again twice over!
Yeah housing I'm not fussed about, was just an example of stuff I've done previously.
So is it mainly dungeons at 50 then? If so, how many of them are there to do?

Well every single dungeon from 1-50 has its own Veteran version which makes the normal one completely different and much much harder (different enemies and bosses) and there's also Dragonstar Arena and Craglorn, plus upcoming DLC has 2 more 4 man dungeons.
Next DLC in Order:
Imperial City -> Orsinium (Orc Land) -> Thieve's Guild -> Dark brotherhood. They come out quarterly too so should come with more dungeons as well.
50 is not even remotely "end game." There is more questing to do if you like that sort of thing - 2 times as many quests that you have not yet seen compared to what you saw 1-50. There IS a reason why you're doing it in the other two alliance areas although it would be a major spoiler to tell you how, why you're there. And whatever you think of it, it's a much bigger and varied system than what other MMOs give you with a handful of repeatable daily quests once you reach 50.
There are veteran and normal versions of all the dungeons - and veteran is not just a harder version of normal, it's also a different story with different bosses and some new areas in the dungeons that open up. And they all scale to the level of the group leader whether normal or vet. There is guild-like group that gives you one normal and one veteran challenge to complete per day and doing that gives you a chance at some special rewards you can only get that way as well as progression through their skill line which unlocks new skills you can use anywhere.
You also start accumulating Champion Points once you hit 50 and that is a 3600 point system that improves your character by letting you spend those points on passives that, for example, increase your physical damage, magic resistance, etc. and each point you earn is also available to be used by all of your characters including new level 1 characters. If you earn 100 points and use those with your level 50+, any and all other characters you have will also get 100 points that they can use in different ways. If you're playing normally and not specifically trying to grind CPs, you'll get one every hour to two hours of post 50 game play.
There are some raids and a unique 4-man raid like challenge, Dragon Star Arena. with the usual rare drops and achievements.
And there will soon be a new way to PVP: mixed PVE/PVP street fighting in the Imperial City with a real risk/reward system with the loss of some IC-specific type of loot, Tel Var stones, when killed by mobs or other players.... and lootable off players you kill.
There's lots to do but whether or not it holds your attention and for how long is up to you and nobody can tell you how you will feel about it... as a matter of fact come back and tell us once you get there.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
Thanks for the detailed reply. It sounds like there is plenty to do outside of Cyrodil which was my only concern.
Now to get levelled and see some of the group content!

Iselin, I normally agree with everything you write, but I'm baffled by what i put in red. I think we have been in agreement since the beginning that the idea of doing the other factions was a poor design choice...though I don't come to these forums that much anymore so maybe you've changed your tune since then. I'm guessing what you wrote is a mystery to most and I'm not sure leaving that so vague is enough to get me or others who are reluctant to spend dozens of hours in the other zones a reason without a little more specifics as to whatever that means.

Well... I see a lot of comments from many new players that think questing in the other two alliance zones doesn't make sense in the context of a PVP game and what's happening in Cyrodiil. All I'm saying here is that there is a valid story reason for doing it that isn't revealed until you defeat Molag Bal and talk to Meridia and Caldwel. If you've gotten that far, you'd know what I mean.
This is not really related to my own personal preference which always has leaned (and still does) toward more separation for the alliances, not less. But despite my preferences, the story hook for going there is a valid plot device... that's all. I'm still me
And I'm also not a fan of the dungeon grouping with anyone from any alliance that they just announced at Quakecon as a partial "solution" to the group finder taking forever to form groups for the same reason - more giving up on the alliance separation for the sake of convenient casual game play.

That makes sense thank you. That sounds like a lot of work just to see that at the end of a faction story lol.

Out of curiosity, how long ago did you hit 50 and tried VR? I'm asking because I also disliked the VR grind a year ago but these days with the CPs added and the mob difficulty more in line with the 1-50 PVE game play, I found getting to V14 just fine.
I mean... it's true that for me at least, I enjoy all MMOs more at first when I'm learning the system and that plays itself out 1-50 in ESO. So I did enjoy that time the most. But carrying on and unlocking all the skill lines and playing around with different builds is fun too.
