Wow, relatively no content for your $150, ancient garish gfx, selfies, garrisons, broken pvp, broken pve, simplified and homogenised classes and skills, must play x hours a week or be a 2nd class citizen regardless of skill, sterile virtual world, an unhealthy obsession eith epeen meters, out of touch arrogant developers beholden to shareholders, balancing design mess. No thanks.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

Agree fully with you. Mainly because such people have many times made their life complaining.

Still fact is for me I had full set of 22 alts before WOD. Have played every previous expansion after release for at least half year before switched to some other game. Now barely 1 month with WOD. But funny thing is I still had a blast for this time. So for me Wod definitively is strange failure. All also going to fast. Before it took me aprox half year to level aprox 10 alts, more or less. Now I had 4 after first month. And have played in average maybe only slightly more. I really hope I will not add next expansion at the bottom of my preffered list, which goes now Wotlk, MOP, Cata or BC, Wod.

Honest after Lich King blizzard have become really lazy and just want milk as much money the can for honest the storytelling in last expansion have really stuck.

I try and stay out of debates like this as much as possible, one tend to live a less stressful life that way, I however saw some comments that feels grossly unfair and very subjective.

As a long time Warcraft player and a avid gamer, even I must admit, I have probably spent the least amount of time with this expansion. If for no other reason, I think I simply out-grew the World of Warcraft play style.

We can all understand this, if you think of it this way: the style, feel and ambiance of the game is simply just not on par with everything else out there. I simply want a more mature well rounded and fulfilling game. The social aspect of the game was great when were all in school or just stared working, but now, we are starting families of our own and jobs and responsibilities beyond having to gather fish for raid food.

Granted that was fun, but it is over now. Perhaps it is time to look to the future and lay the World of Warcraft beast to rest while it still has a little dignity left. (This will ofc never happen as long as the green stuff is flowing in.)

Give us a new game to play, something that make us feel like kids again. Something powerful. Something grand. Something less phew phew and more boom boom, if you know what I mean. I want to feel like the character I'm playing again.

Anyway, just wanted to throw my hat on the pile.

P.S. My wife still pays and plays wow. I'm am a little jealous that she can still get that rush that I lost from it, but desperately want back.

The whole WoW world is destroyed for real this time by some dude we never heard of, and the game starts over and does it the proper way.

"World of Warcraft: The New Age":

    1) No farming

    2) No Grinding

    3) No tokens

    4) A story that adheres to lore instead of morphing the lore just to make everyone happy with their Undead, Elf, Paladin, Warlock, Cleric, skate boarder.

    5) No more cutsie tootsie crap

    6) No Panda's or other eastern cutsie tootsie pretty boy themes.

    7) Immersion

    8) No repeatable dungeons...just make them epic, fun, thrilling and immersive so that you cannot wait to explore the NEXT one and not the SAME one.

    9) Better art design, no seasonal equipment, no eSports

    10) A true immersive MMORPG with a deep immersive story and no hand holding.

But most of all..a game not made for 11 year old "Wow kiddies" who say "My weapons rulez yours".

Nothing will ever be good enough for these people.

When you have millions and millions of players, five million more than any other western MMORPG, you inevitably also have a higher percentage of complainers as well.

These naysayers then take to the forums en masse to express how they feel about every little odd and end that they have some sort of issue with. It paints an inaccurate portrayal of how the average individual feels about the game, when in fact most players are very satisfied, or else they wouldn't continue to play.

Vested interest in a character due to time spent isn't enough to keep millions upon millions interested in a game for over a decade. It is the most high quality, polished, and entertaining fantasy themepark on the market - that is what keeps people playing. You simply cannot find a better fantasy themepark mmorpg, and until someone manages to trump that (no pun intended) Warcraft will continue to be King of the Hill.

Tell me...what will you be doing three months from now in October?  Or during the Holiday season?  The same raid that you started in June/July?  The same dungeons?  Leveling a 5th or 6th alt with raid-ready gear?  The same dallies?

Answer those questions and convince me that you did not only get 6 months of content development for Warlods of Draenor.

I'll be honest... things started to die for me with WoW when I first saw the cataclysm trailer...and a big, typical dragon bathing in fire said "RAAAGGGEEEE".  "All will burn in my RAAAGEEEEE".. (a line they similarly used in one of the recent patches for WoD(new raid??)).

It was so corny.  Gone are the days of actual villains that we know and care about.  Deathwing was in lore, if you read the lore, and I guess he could have been successful if he hadn't been so "commercialized" and generic with his dialogue and presentation.

Illidan...man we knew about this guy!  Especially for people that played the RPGs.  Kaelthas! same thing!  Lich King?  Classic!  Deathwing?  Eh ok some of us know about him...And ...then we had an orc in Mists?  Er..Okay?  And is it ...another Orc in WoD?  Sigh...what happened to the epic classics like LK?

I got tired of the WoW combat system and story telling, also fed up with looking for raids to keep progressing. Crafting which I enjoy was a pain as well.

Now if there was a mmo with the story telling of The Secret World, the voice acting for my character from SWTOR and the combat from Elder Scrolls Online with a character skill system like that found in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay PnP and a character design screen like Eve Online. Set in a Gothic punk fantasy or future setting that would be great.

One of the greatest snow jobs Blizzard has ever pulled is calling major content updates expansions.

What expands entirely? Is there more content added to go along with the previous content? Did the game open up more from it's previous state?

Hell no. They rewrite the entire game and you play within the content they add rarely if ever revisiting the old content which is made nearly entirely irrelevant. Each expansion has shrunk the game. The playscape of vanilla Wow was far larger than any expansion you were effectively stuck in. The last 2 or 3 expansions shrunk the world even more as content was entirely rewritten with little addition or the content addition was smaller than what it was in the past.

Very little has ever been expanded upon in Wow. It has mostly been rewritten and overwritten and overall playscape shrunken.

    You stay sassy!

You are so right. It was hard very hard to pay after WOTLK They sent me a 7 day trail so I loaded it up and  played for 7 days was not impressed at all. They seem to have lost their way subs soared up to 12 million when WOTLK came out then when cataclysm  it began to drop and then it really began to drop with Pandoria Today I see no hope in it ever growing again it truly has lost it flavor just like chewing gum on the bed post over night
